I am a new heli flyer and just bought the DX6i. Really enjoyed your video's. They helped me to learn what the different settings do & how to program the DX6i ! Best "how to" video's I have watched on here.
Just a suggestion from myself and other extreme pilots. We don't fumble with switch positions to change sensitivity when inverted or flying 3d. Fingers on sticks all the time. Anyways, it's good to know how to "set" the expo/linear feature, but not "good idea" to use them in actual flight.
@9joker6 Endpoint is "exactly" the endpoint. The D/R will adjust if you want to "use it all" or back off from it. Say you set your car to go 100mph, then you can use D/R to set limit back to say 80 mph. However, if you are in a pinch and you need that 100mph, you are out of luck. That's what expo is for. What's expo? Watch his video.
Im am soon going to buy myself a transmitter where the duel rate can be changed. i would just like to say that was an excellent tutorial video and explained very well.thanks guys
Excellent video, as a newbie to RC its difficult finding good sources of information. The manual that comes with the DX6i transmitter doesn't explain the functions and how they effect the aircraft being used. This is a concise and clear explanation of a confusing subject and you did a great job. I look forward to your future videos, thanks for all of the effort!
Your videos are highly informative, and the little skit in the beginning is nice, just one friendly piece of advice. Could you keep the volume the same throughout the video? When I try to hear your voice, I turn up the volume, but then the transition's music is way loud. Thanks!! :D
Unfortunately Matt, one person's high rate is another person's low rate. In the past I've used 60-70 % and then gone up/down in 10 % increments, then once I zero in on a 10% range, I cut it by 5%, gradually cutting down until I zero in on something I like. As for different rates for up aileron vs. down aileron, I don't think my TX supports that directly, but you could look at what is called 'travel adjust', which lets you control the end points of a servo (top and bottom) before dual rate
is even applied. I haven't covered that specifically since it's kind of a next step after dual rate, but look for that in your transmitter setup and see if that helps. It lets you define different values for your top and end points, regardless of any d/r or expo you use. it's not something you setup via a switch, it covers the whole model memory slot of that craft.
Awesome video! Well done. But I would kill the background music at some point; very distracting as I'm trying to listen to what you are saying.
