  • Best rendition of this work around youtube, absolutely beautiful

  • bless you, thank you.

  • wow besides the lack of equipment this is one of the better recordings of this piece... VERY good... go oxford...

  • I was awaiting dj Tiesto to jump into the church and start making tunes.

  • First of all: a superb performance!

Secondly, more curious: I might be wrong but it seems to me that the choir performed this work with a lot of power/forte instead of a more 'softer' approach due to the sad tenure of the work. So tell me: am I wrong in my interpretation or is there someone sharing my observation?

  • This is church music. Much better than that garbage gospel I see on TV coming out of some of the big southern churches.

  • @dheeren62 Wow! Garbage??? How can u possibly have it in you to say something so harsh when a piece like this that represents an immense beauty in Humanity and our connection to the Greater Good......SMH. Grow up. But i agree this type of spiritual music is much more appealing than Gospel

  • Is there a professional recording of this available anywhere?

  • gorgeous.

  • 6:01= I thought I just heard heaven open up. O Lamb of God, who takest away the sin of the world, grant us Thy peace. <3

  • Indudablemente la mejor versión del Agnus Dei, superando incluso las muy buenas instrumentales instrumentales, lamentablemente la imagen no es la mejor, un cuanto a la obra es magnífica y mas aún...

  • 6:08 I lost it... WOW!!

  • Proof, once again, that the best-of-the-best comes from Oxford.

Best performance of the piece I've ever heard.

  • sgrwsge

  • Best version I've heard on YouTube yet

  • Beautiful music, stupid religion.

  • What does religion have to do with this? Sit down, shut up and enjoy it while you can.

  • It's a choir singing in a catholic church. wtf, duh!

    you stfu, dumbass

  • If I might ad, they don`t sing in a catholic church but in a chapel from the angelican church of england

  • Thank you for pointing out that most interesting yet irrelevant distinction.

  • To use your very vociferous words, you stfu, dumbass (whatever that means), if you have such a problem with it, why are you viewing this?

  • Because I like the piece which is what the title says. If I saw a video of skinheads singing it during a clan rally I'd complain about that too. I always complain where complaint is due.

  • how is it stupid?

  • because it's obviously not true yet claims to be anyway

  • Prove it... how is it "obviously not true?"

  • if it was, you would know it, you wouldn't need to believe

  • which religion is true then?

  • the one that doesn't lie

  • And Catholicism lies?

  • No, people lie. When people spread nonsense as the truth, that's lying; which is immoral; which is evil. Catholicism is just one of many ideologies of evil.

  • @Piscivorus Tool. I am Catholic and I am offended that you would disrespect us! Unless you are Catholic, DON'T BE SAYING SHIT!!! If you don't believe in God then fine, that's your own right. But DON'T YOU DARE disrespect other religions just because they conform to YOUR ideology moron!!!!!!!!

  • @italiansexgoddess I meant to say because the religions DON'T conform or fit the ideology!

  • The Four Marks of the Church (Body of Christ) are ONE, HOLY,CATHOLIC & APOSTOLIC...seems like you have not read the Nicene Creed, if you are agains the church of Christ, then you are against Christ...be wise! Blessings

  • Nothing but garbage designed to fill your head with all sorts of superstition and drama. You're right, I stand against Christ and the church of Christ. Not because I'm evil but because your evil, and Jesus is just a figment of your evil imagination.

  • Define evil...

  • Evil is basically immorality. It means plotting to cause injury or death; to provoke violence; to bring about misfortune and suffering; to create disaster; and to deceive.

  • Are you an atheist...?

  • yes

  • And, who says you have the right decide what is evil and what isn't?

  • Nobody. I don't need permission to think.

  • Well, then you have no right to impose your view that murder is evil on anyone else...

  • Actually I do have that right. In fact, I'm obligated by law to impose this particular view because most people agree with it.

  • But still, you haven't given me reason to believe why murder is wrong, and what makes something wrong or evil except what you say by opinion.

Atheism is disproved through basic philosophy- the principle of non-contradiction. The universe is a contingent object, gaining its existence from something else. This goes back to the necessary being, a being self-existing, eternal, pure spirit depending on nothing. Atheism disproved

    There you go, atheism disproved

  • Murder is wrong because being murdered is bad. Simple as that. Morality does not come from divine guidance, it comes from parental guidance and the fear that someone could murder you if you disrespect them enough.

Atheism is not a proposition so it's not something you can disprove. Atheism is just a label for people who reject the unsubstantiated propositions that a) the universe is contingent and that b) the universe is contingent upon the preexistence of an all powerful creator god.

  • everything material is contingent...

    the universe is material...

where did the universe come from?

  • Matter is not contigent, that would be a violation of the law of conservation of mass- that matter can neither be created nor destroyed. The universe is mostly space anyway. The term "universe" encompasses all places in space so it didn't come from anywhere, it's already everywhere.

  • Yet it still needs to gain existence from something else.... you cannot infintely regress each thing back and back for it's would then go back to nothing which would equal nothing....

adding an infinity of zeros will still equal zero.

This is where the necessary being enters the picture. :)

  • Why would everything regress back to nothing? The presumes that everything came from nothing which is absurd. The only way the universe can exist today is for the universe to have always existed. That doesn't mean it's always had the same form, only that it's always existed in one form or another.

  • It all had to come from the necessary being...

matter does gain its existence from something else. Carbon dioxide is does not just come about by itself. A tree has to form first, or any other way you wanna put it...

Dirt is formed by a collection of minerals...

minerals from molecules and chemicals from.... etc. etc. All depend on its existence from the necessary Being independent from matter. AKA God

  • Then where is God? If such an all powerful being exists, point it out. If your can't, then your entire argument has done nothing but contribute to global warming.

  • well.. look around, what are seem and see are all works of a Supreme Being...

God is a pure spirit independent from matter. I can't just show him to you.

  • Well Jesus claimed to be God in 30-33 AD.

Historically, He caused acts contradicting nature revealing his "supernature." He did them all without personal gain and ended up being persecuted and killed in the end. There are also the perfect 2 words in complete agreement with philosophy and the principle of non-contradiction. "I am." these two words imply the self-existence and eternity of the Supreme Being...

  • @Piscivorus In logic, the rejection of a claim is the accepting (i.e. proposing) of claim's contradictory. The only way to not take a stance on something is to suspend judgement.

If you reject the claim "There is at least one God", you have to stand by the claim "There are no Gods". The only way to not take a stance if to suspend judgement which basically means "I don't know if there is at least one God". This is called agnosticism, though sometimes people call it soft atheism I think.

  • Unless it never started existing. The Big Bang needn't be a creative event: just a horizon beyond which we cannot probe.

You have essentially set up a special pleading case: "All things must have a beginning, except for this one thing which, in order to preserve my own self-interest, I exempt from the rule by fiat."

  • Yes... An illogical "Horizon beyond which we cannot probe"...

That means it would have to come from something... it's a contingent cause...

  • Sure. Whatever caused the Big Bang had a cause. You can't get from "it had a cause" to "sky daddy done it".

  • I never formed that assumption.. It's the logical conclusion in philosophy and science...

Aristotle even mentions the need for the "uncaused cause" for the existence of the universe.

  • Name-dropping a dead guy isn't impressing me.

Let's grant for a moment that there IS an "uncaused cause". So what? You want to go from that to a dude in the sky who cares if you have gay sex?

  • I like your screenname and your intelligence haha!

  • Let them think what they think.

  • One of the most spectacular renditions of this piece of music ever...congratulations...

  • uauhh....

  • ohhh good....it`s really beauty.....they are singing angels
