This interview lacks the typical "Borat" effect, where people either don't know what to say, become totally embarrassed or simply crack under too much laughing. Here they follow a formal procedure which makes the interview very sterile.

As far as Cohen, there is a difference between the dupes who meet Borat or his other characters and take them seriously and the interviewers who know him and know what to expect. I experience it myself that ironic or even sarcastic, cynic humor that goes against what is called "political correctness" is not taken as funny. ja, das stimmt, und mehr noch: Borat hat dieses Interview (fast wörtlich) allen anderen TV-Sendern in der Welt genauso gegeben. Ich habe eben hier paar Youtube ein paar Versionen geguckt. Er sagt also immer dasselbe, nur die Reaktionen der Journalisten unterscheiden sich.

die Amerikaner haben dabei am peinlichsten abgeschnitten, sie lachen immer, auch wo sie verarscht werden. Das ist kein Humor sondern nur Verklemmtheit. Aber der Spiegel hat sich natürlich auch blamiert.
