  • Daddy, she has your eyes

And when she grins you can only realize

The guilt she manifests so deep inside you

That your thin veneer of catechism can no longer hide

The voice you hear, her secret pain

As she digs the shiv into her placid veins

  • Now she has your eyes

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

    But she can't yet realize

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

    Your ever wayward eyes

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

    Will be her demise

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

  • You slipped into another, forbidden

Took her for the ride, you've ridden

Hoping to let her deep inside your disdain

What was it that drove your feign

Into another's arms, into another's bed

When all the while your young one waits up in dread

What was it? Was it something she did?

What was it? Was it something she said?

  • Now she has your eyes

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

    But she can't yet realize

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

    Your ever wayward eyes

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

    Will be her demise

Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted

Writhe and burn father you were (6x)

  • She dances in the moonlight

Collecting drops of the earthy dew

    Celebrating her exit

From the benign sense of self she once knew

    Raising her heavy glass

    (Raising her heavy glass)

Her cup now spills on her skirt

And as she cuts her knees in the dirt

She prays for the hourglass to flip and reverse

  • Now she has your eyes Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted But she can't yet realize Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted Your ever wayward eyes Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted Will be her demise Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted Now she has your eyes Something you wanted, you wanted, something you wanted, you wanted (2x) Writhe and burn father you were (2x)
  • i want this as my ringtone

  • this song is bomb!

  • this is by far my fave p86 song! thanks for doing this with the vid.

  • awesome... great idea and great song... well and amazing band... did you edit the video at all or does it just sync this well?

  • I edited the original music video quite a bit to make it fit this song. Some cuts were from the original, but many were placed by me to fit according to the song.

You can watch the original "One Armed Man (Play On)" video either on my profile or on someone else's [see: Related Videos]. The one on my profile is lower quality.

  • oh well great job putting it all together

  • lobve this song

  • maybe my problem is not with text, but how the text is presented, after watching it again I guess I could see where it could add. What program are you using to edit this? I am pretty sure you can do fading text with most other types.

  • fcp, but i did it quickly, so i didn't try to do much fancy stuff with motion or live text.

  • I put this on my P86 page on Myspace.

  • honestly the song goes very well with the video, only a few parts seem odd. I would have loved to see Project 86 have done a real video to this song because I think it was the best song on "Songs to Burn your Bridges By" to make a video with. Nice job none the less

  • I liked how it seemed to sync up, but the text was unnecessary in my opinion.

  • thanks for the input. the video is very schizo and seemed to need a slight explanation, but maybe i just thought too quickly while editing.

  • Dont listen to her... The text was a good addition. It emphisized the lyrics.

  • First of all, I am a guy. Second I think it takes away from the video. It seems like a cheap fix to get the point across. Maybe if it was used more sparingly it would be good.

  • whoops, accidentally removed dkhelsings comment (saying text was used sparingly) when trying to hit reply.

anyways, i'll keep both points of view
