@vacillantMonomaniac uhm.....its not all that hard if you know what your doing. if you plan your formations carefully down to the last available unit, you can become damn near indestructible.

That kinda Argueable. Don't get me wrong here. I like TLR on PC, But i absolutely HATE the story and the english Voice Acting, I swore every time i hear Rush say "lets kick some A" An Angle dies.
@l2ash Sure, but playing on XBOX with the leader limit, lessened side quests and some of the power moves not implemented, like Dave's full GaeBolg, would just turn this game into mush for me. The XBOX version was a complete waste of time, the PC version is the *Full* version.
@Sammy102093 it took me an hour to find the bloodthirsty beast. about 10 minute to find the ruler of the dawn. As long as the spawn conditions are in order, it shouldn't take you too long :)
@zwady well, you were lucky to get them that quick. took me almost 4 hrs for bloodthirsty beast and found ruler of the dawn after going in and out of the aera for 75th time. hardest one is a white horn. pain in the back side.
@TheJRPGgamer I've been to aveyclyff a few times. But when I actually went down to look for whitehorn i got so lucky and found him first time! :D Nordri took me about 20 mins. Lolz! The rare monsters in last remnant are a right pain in the backside :P I also got quite lucky with dominator in blackdale. Think I found him after going in for the 2nd time. Im sure you've had your lucky experiences too :P
@zwady well, i never had a lady luck by my side while i was playing TLR. missed fallen and duke of ghor sidequests a few times and lost the hard-drive. so i had to play disc 1 4 times and disc 2 about 7 times. took me 3 months because i used only 1 union. you will see all my TLR video clips in my playlist. the game is so intense that i dont think i gona find another game like this ever again.

It's only by previously reading a guide of some sort that you are aware they've actually been missed! I missed the duke of ghor one. Managed to beat the fallen first time (once again a lot of it is partly to do with luck :P ) I agree though, the last remnant is an epic game! Can't believe it got bad reviews
@zwady funny thing is, i used gamefaqs.com for those sidequests and still missed them. the conditions werent clear enough for me what to do. well, it was when the game comes out. so there were so many confusion. and also i was busy helping one guy(alan yu, i think) from gamefaqs who was doing the guide at that time as well. fallen sidequest is easy for me becuase i over powered him. XD BR45/50 before bases and then ancient ruin entrance until BR90 and then 3rd floor in AC to grind BR and Stats

Died hear too. Its a problem when your forces turn on one another... I had to do this shit 3 times. Attempt 1 - died, Attempt 2 - Beat him then dying in follow fights, Attempt 3 beat them all and then I SAVED MY GAME!
I love this game. Though it's a bit buried under technical issues and the flimsy story, there is so much fun to be had in the stradegy, music, and fighting.
@KNDReaper game got bad reviews even though it was a masterpiece in my humble estimation. The game supposedly ran horribly on the Xbox which would call into question its ability to run on the PS3. I have a very old rig and the game ran remarkably well on it. If you want it, buy it on the PC.
I fought the Gates of Hell twice, and won the second time. I only had three units in each union at the time, but at least one unit in each union knew how to revive. The first time pandemonium got my strongest team so they went around killing everyone. When I'm fighting a boss, I take it easy the first time and watch what the boss does, then I kill them the second time!
how shit is that i have replayed this game twice but i will never play it a third time twice is good enough for me besides i find darksiders and deadrising 2 is insane to me there fucking totaly hardcore and i love it lol

@Br4indude ya infinite undiscovery was a fun game it's just the battle system sucks and it feels dumbed down, the story was good though so was the music.
this tune is my favourite tune and everyone the best way to kill the gates of hell quickly is to use combat arts and to have to katana swords but the number one rule is to train loads before fighting it and then u will ave a chance plus at the start of the game have baulson in rush‘s union as he will become a really good ally trust me he is brilliant
Such a great battle theme. It even works for big bosses in other games. Some of my personal favorites are the final boss of Mass Effect 2 and pretty much any big MMO fight you can imagine.

@Truthrillz8 i dont think pandemonium is bad sometime its usefull to get the cyclops out of the way when i heal they heal the cyclops not them and die
The dlc version isn't that bad. I'm around 120-something BR and he rarely used Pandemonium. As long as he doesn't spam that, you're fine. Either that or get a summon chance to tank. Namul Niram are your best bet because they have a higher block and evade rating than Cyclops.
@Mosse190 I agree. Nintendo comes up with good soundtracks, but its good for different reasons. This is more... I dunno, modern, could I say? Like, Zelda, Mario, Kirby, all those have catchy beats, but nothing really epic sounding.

I mean, sure it would be nice to be able to pick what skills you want to use and learn, but... well, that would make things too easy. Its strategy enough as it is, building teams like this for situations, but it makes you think ahead too. If Rush uses more combat arts than mystic, he'll get more and better combat art chances. Gotta separate your leaders with special skills so that they can make use.

@agentfjols I'm battle rank 44, I have 4 squads just got done with that Gates of Hell boss took me a day of training to beat him.I was battle rank 30 and went to 40 just to beat him it was fun though
@agentfjols He;s was easier for me cause I got to use the Gae Bolg from the start.I use 4 unions.Each with 2,000+ Hp David/Nora Squad,Emmy Squad,Rush Squad,Torgal/Caedmon Squad.
Only thing cheaper than the gates of hell using all 3 deadlocks and his own turn on that attack that those things jump out of him doing damage to all unions in Hinnah and Hannah fight... theres an union of 3 mages there that can cast blackout... they used it and the two followed up with their Twin Snowflake or whatever (been some time since i played the game)... it was rather cheap.
You know, everyone says how hard nest of eagles is, and I don't understand why. i got through it on both the pc and 360 version with nary a scratch. I do admit the game is very hard sometimes, frustrating even, but that particular fight never gave me any trouble, let alone a game over.
Maybe the style I play just happens to fit well with that particular fight or something, or maybe people go after the wrong targets.
If gates of hell is toughtest boss in the game i am dissapointed... Fight is very easy just need to use good tactic( beat it at first attempt w/o problems ). 1 Union + Cyclop deadlock 1union healing other random heals and attacks like strike from the sides option.(PC vers )
Well I think this boss is weaker than the XBOX version, its weird since the game is a lot harder than the XBOX one, because all rare monsters etc on the PC has a LOT more health and attack than the XBOX version, this one is weaker dont know why
cant really say to be honest, i found it stupidly hard on the xbox version but when i played it on the pc version it just seemed like a normal boss to me, you just need experiance with that boss, the fiery gates are much more terrible though
No gates of hell isn't the hardest boss, you just need to know how to do it, which you did. Most people don't, so they find it hard. Most people who play this game don't understand the concept of keeping a union or two back for healing.
Also, the 360 version doesn't give you an "attack from the sides" option, ever, thats PC exclusive.
The 360 version actually does give you an "attack from the sides" just need a guest union and 2 of your own unions to deadlock it then the extra union to attack.
i remember that i liked this track a lot so i didn't mind dying to this boss the first couple times just so i could hear it again, the next 5 deaths was when i started to get pissed
Actually "Heal yourself with item arts" or something like that ( dont remember exact name) is better option then "act on their own" to avoid accidental deadlocks.
This song is amazing and fits the battle with the gates of hell perfectly(hence the name). Still can't beat it though so i may just play my cards right later and hope for the best. nonetheless this game and soundtrack are still perfect among the rest of any other ost for any other game. Only few to match maybe.
My strategy: multideadlock it with 2 unions+ cyclops, then flank attack it with my damage dealer union to hell.(Once you flank it, you'll get the option all the time, its in pc version btw.)
When you summon the remnant use it as tank, and heal with others. It is fool proof tactic, but a bit slow. When boss is on low health then you can deadlock with every union :P
Besides the nest of eagles this is the real true challenge you will face in the game. If you can beat these 3 bosses no problem you'll possibly be fine later in the game.
i didnt think that nest of eagles was that hard, i got gae bolg, omnistrike and ex machina popping up all the time, it took out the less powerful groups really quick and then just spammed the main boss with it, i was around BR 27 at the time so it was probably more luck than anything, but getting up to gates of hell with such a low battle rank meant i got owned instantly, eventually i started a new game, leveled like mad, got decent equipment, and finally beat it.
Coming from some one who has actually beat this game, all of you that are thinking about playn this. Please not that this game is boring at first but will grow on you as you progress. Also, the boss battles will make you want to break your 360 so be warned.
well that's your opinion on the game. Everyone has their own opinion and my opinion its a nice fun challenge game because RPG games are meant to be patient if you are not patient on RPG games than don't play it but that doesn't mean you should just say something bad bout a game people haven't play or know about

I heard that this game is very slow if you don't install it to your hard drive and the game will take up over 6 gigs if i install it. Since all I have at the moment is a 20 gig hard drive(with only 6 gigs left) I know I am gonna need extra space.
Boss stuff aside. I really wish the guitar at 1:15 lasted longer, best part of the tune. Was even more epic for me because I summoned the Cyclops around the time that segment of the track played :3
Same happened when i summoned my cyclops, then just watching it go up and tank gates of hell added more to the increasing awesome. Shame the boss was such a bugger to kill though, i tried at least 100 times to kill it.
i wish all the boss songs in this game were the gates of hell song.epic track

Grałem w tę grę na X boxie . Mój BR 19 i 3 drużyny z HP 2800-3100 .
Maxowałem postecie na walkach w blackdale z vulture pomiędzy BR 6-15 potem z Zi Bai rare monster.
Walka z the gates jest prosta ,walka z Jagerem jeszcze prostsza.
P.S.
The Lost można pokonac w jedną runde na BR 100+ , 4 wepon arts i po sprawie Cademon i Thorgal z str 139 i 125 wymiatają .

The dlc version isn't that bad. I'm around 120-something BR and he rarely used Pandemonium. As long as he doesn't spam that, you're fine. Either that or get a summon chance to tank. Namul Niram are your best bet because they have a higher block and evade rating than Cyclops.

@Mosse190 I agree. Nintendo comes up with good soundtracks, but its good for different reasons. This is more... I dunno, modern, could I say? Like, Zelda, Mario, Kirby, all those have catchy beats, but nothing really epic sounding.

@agentfjols Wow really? That sucks! I guess those guys just couldn't figure the game out, huh? I mean, sure it would be nice to be able to pick what skills you want to use and learn, but... well, that would make things too easy. Its strategy enough as it is, building teams like this for situations, but it makes you think ahead too. If Rush uses more combat arts than mystic, he'll get more and better combat art chances. Gotta separate your leaders with special skills so that they can make use.

@agentfjols He;s was easier for me cause I got to use the Gae Bolg from the start.I use 4 unions.Each with 2,000+ Hp David/Nora Squad,Emmy Squad,Rush Squad,Torgal/Caedmon Squad.

@lolking1016 was battle rank 13 when I beat that segment of the game. gates was hard, but with reserection and golem, he is simple. just pace it out.

Only thing cheaper than the gates of hell using all 3 deadlocks and his own turn on that attack that those things jump out of him doing damage to all unions in Hinnah and Hannah fight... theres an union of 3 mages there that can cast blackout... they used it and the two followed up with their Twin Snowflake or whatever (been some time since i played the game)... it was rather cheap.

You know, everyone says how hard nest of eagles is, and I don't understand why. i got through it on both the pc and 360 version with nary a scratch. I do admit the game is very hard sometimes, frustrating even, but that particular fight never gave me any trouble, let alone a game over.
Maybe the style I play just happens to fit well with that particular fight or something, or maybe people go after the wrong targets.

If gates of hell is toughtest boss in the game i am dissapointed... Fight is very easy just need to use good tactic( beat it at first attempt w/o problems ). 1 Union + Cyclop deadlock 1union healing other random heals and attacks like strike from the sides option.(PC vers )

Well... On PC version it has about 12k Hp less then on X-box version according to the info on last remnant wiki so i think its possible.

Well I think this boss is weaker than the XBOX version, its weird since the game is a lot harder than the XBOX one, because all rare monsters etc on the PC has a LOT more health and attack than the XBOX version, this one is weaker dont know why

cant really say to be honest, i found it stupidly hard on the xbox version but when i played it on the pc version it just seemed like a normal boss to me, you just need experiance with that boss, the fiery gates are much more terrible though

No gates of hell isn't the hardest boss, you just need to know how to do it, which you did. Most people don't, so they find it hard. Most people who play this game don't understand the concept of keeping a union or two back for healing.
Also, the 360 version doesn't give you an "attack from the sides" option, ever, thats PC exclusive.

The 360 version actually does give you an "attack from the sides" just need a guest union and 2 of your own unions to deadlock it then the extra union to attack.

Always let at least 1 or 2 healing capable unions act on their own when fighting multi-attack bosses. They will heal between the attacks.

Actually "Heal yourself with item arts" or something like that ( dont remember exact name) is better option then "act on their own" to avoid accidental deadlocks.

This song is amazing and fits the battle with the gates of hell perfectly(hence the name). Still can't beat it though so i may just play my cards right later and hope for the best. nonetheless this game and soundtrack are still perfect among the rest of any other ost for any other game. Only few to match maybe.

My strategy: multideadlock it with 2 unions+ cyclops, then flank attack it with my damage dealer union to hell.(Once you flank it, you'll get the option all the time, its in pc version btw.)

When you summon the remnant use it as tank, and heal with others. It is fool proof tactic, but a bit slow. When boss is on low health then you can deadlock with every union :P

Besides the nest of eagles this is the real true challenge you will face in the game. If you can beat these 3 bosses no problem you'll possibly be fine later in the game.

i didnt think that nest of eagles was that hard, i got gae bolg, omnistrike and ex machina popping up all the time, it took out the less powerful groups really quick and then just spammed the main boss with it, i was around BR 27 at the time so it was probably more luck than anything, but getting up to gates of hell with such a low battle rank meant i got owned instantly, eventually i started a new game, leveled like mad, got decent equipment, and finally beat it.

Coming from some one who has actually beat this game, all of you that are thinking about playn this. Please not that this game is boring at first but will grow on you as you progress. Also, the boss battles will make you want to break your 360 so be warned.

I heard that this game is very slow if you don't install it to your hard drive and the game will take up over 6 gigs if i install it. Since all I have at the moment is a 20 gig hard drive(with only 6 gigs left) I know I am gonna need extra space.

Boss stuff aside. I really wish the guitar at 1:15 lasted longer, best part of the tune. Was even more epic for me because I summoned the Cyclops around the time that segment of the track played :3

Same happened when i summoned my cyclops, then just watching it go up and tank gates of hell added more to the increasing awesome. Shame the boss was such a bugger to kill though, i tried at least 100 times to kill it.
