@Lukadukie vicky 2 is horrible when your computer literally wont load flags or other images, and the map is literally all black with bright red boarders- and if you take too long to choose a nation- it crashes. I wish I bought Europa Universalis III Chronicles instead of wasting my money on vicky 2 when I cant even play it. :(

Aside from that simple fact you must be pretty oblivious to the obvious gameplay differences: TW is about passable strategy and tons of battlefield eyecandy. EUIII is the exact opposite, its battles won't win awards, but its unique approach, size & inherent strategic depth and variability make it a much smarter game

thinking about buying EU3 complete and this expansion. i found EU2 rather boring though due to its complete lack of ANY military depth..... game focused entirely on the political aspect.

huge fan of paradox's Hearts of Iron series though.

@leo8182008 Yes. You can't be in them starting a Grand Campaign.. however if you start as the Timurids and release Armenia as a vassal, then they are playable.

You might also want to play Timurids until you can cancel vassalisation of Armenia. Then, you can save the game and reload and select Armenia. :)

Unfortunately not. Around 15th century to late 18th century, Armenia was not an independent state. You have to play as either the timurid, ottomans, or other empires.

@STELIOS155 Well they're rather different games in many ways. EU3 simulates a lot more of its era but that era is of a smaller scope than Civ4. It's also a lot slower so it takes patience. Personally I think they're about equal, depending on my mood.

It is very different so can't really compare.

But I luv Europa. In Civ, upgrading tech is a cool feature. I luv the visuals but the game is a little childish IMO.

I really enjoy the historical reality in Europa. I can say the unique feature of this game is that one choice is part of a complex web of effects. Diplomacy is soo fun in Europa. In this game, war and conquering land isn't everything. Multiplayer is also very addicting if you have a close friend.

Oh man, get Ile-de-France to become part of the Holy Roman Empire, and once you form the HRE as a united country you inhereit France along with all the other countries in the Empire. At that point you've won the game because you're basically unstoppable. Annex fools until invincibility gets boring then start over as another country.

If so, I did play the demo for about 20 hours (no savegames in the demo) and experienced no such problems. Only time I got it to crash was when putting malformed commands into the console.
