He looks & sounds as though he suffered from Trisomy 21. I researched it at length because for a few scary weeks I worried my son had the condition. @SamaraDravenfly I'm sorry but you seem to misunderstand Trisomy 21, Down Syndrome it does not cause pain or death. People with DS can live long and fulfilling lives. Babies who have other Trisomies may have short lives, however. This child has none of the physical characteristics associated with DS. I have two eight year old brothers that both have DS.

My doctor had thought my son had one or the other & it's trisomy 18 that I had been so afraid of. DS I know isn't a death sentence. I should have double checked my post before I hit send. I mixed my numbers up. So sorry :) I'm not saying trisomy 18 is what happened to this precious little guy but he has a few of the characteristics I was told to expect from trisomy 18. Apologies

I know if someone had said to me what I did, I'd have been taken aback. Due to some anomalies on my son's ultrasound, we were told he most likely had DS but these signs could also be tri 18. Both were explained to me at length so I felt embarrassed to have made the mistake at all. But no worries :) My son turned out fine. I wish the same could have been for Luke. :(

The family is doing so much better. His life is a celebration to us now. We go visit his grave every Christmas and on his birthday-- and occastionally I just like to go talk to him. His little sister is getting big too!

A chromosome disorder , such as down syndrome means that the baby has more than 23 pairs of chromosomes or more than 46 individual chromosomes . If the child has more chromosomes than the average , they can get a disorder like Down Syndrome , or , they can get a variety of other Down Syndrome related health problems throughout their lifetime . Down Syndrome doesn't mean the child is not going to be able to function right mentally , in fact most are highly intelligent .

The family is doing so much better. His life is a celebration to us now. We go visit his grave every Christmas and on his birthday-- and occastionally I just like to go talk to him. His little sister is getting big too!

Did you know that our creator had other plans for us and death was not one of them? How would you feel to know that you could see your dead loved ones again? Is it possible? John 5:28,29 says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out".
This promise from the Almighty is sure to come true. His own word promises in Titus 1:2 "He cannot lie".

I'm so sorry. For you and your family for such a tragic loss. I too lost a nephew and I know the pain is unbearable. But remember to keep strong for your cousin because the parents feel far worse. But at least he's now in heaven not having to suffer in this world.

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry for your loss. I know that I cannot understand what this must feel like at all, but I can't really do anything. If I could I would, because losing somebody is horrible, I know that! I hope the new baby in the family is helping you get over the pain. I shouldn't say get over I guess, because nobody on earth can get over this, but maybe the new babe will help you move on with your life. I'm so sorry, and R.I.P. little Luke.
