  • Absolutey Beautiful...

  • @brunolive13 :)

  • How the hell is he soooo fucking good???

  • As previously mentioned, the closes to this is The Dragons of Eden - utterly amazing album. After that, check out Colma, Electric Tears, A Real Diamond in the Rough, Shadows Between the Sky, Captain EO's Voyage and I'd give Peppers Ghost a shot too. Welcome to musical heaven :)

  • Is there anyplace to download this? I can't find it anywhere.

  • @lowlypeasant piratebay, just search population override. If you have no idea what torrenting is or HOW to. video2mp3 . c o m It takes youtube songs and turns them into mp3s you can download.

  • @Pianomantodd1 thanks. worked like a charm. This is one of his best albums, I can't believe its not in every CD store and on iTunes.

  • @lowlypeasant I know right.

  • a word that describes correctly this song?: orgasmic

  • What a groove! If the sheer amount of stuff he has put out wasn't so overwhelming I'd love to start buying some of it ...

  • from 0:04 to 0:08 it sounds like something from chowder

  • Buckethead has an album with Les Claypool, Brain, and a cat named Bernie Worrell on keys, its called Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains- good stuff...

  • oooomaaazing

  • this album was a dedication to the great vinyls of the 60s and 70s

  • okay, i am officially turned on to buckethead music! my gf bought me this CD yesterday for my birthday. i had heard some of his tunes before, but i'm not a big metal fan. but this album is absolutely amazing, so i'm looking for peeps to recommend me another purchase :)

like i said, not too keen on metal stuff, and i've heard some stuff from i believe it's called "colma" which was okay, i enjoy the melancholic stuff but i didn't think as an album it was very dynamic

    which CD shud i get?

  • @theycallmejpj well I am mostly a metal fan so XD but I think you would like an album like, A real diamond in the rough, shadows between the sky, and I extremely recommend the dragons of eden. Still I will recommend you check out his "metal" albums, most of them are extremely good because buckethead knows how to balance pure aggression with very beautiful parts. like the song final wars on the brilliant elephant mans alarm clock. Also thanks for watching the video and commenting. have a nice day

  • @navebucketdude cheers man, appreciate it, i will try and check those out. i tried listening to a few tunes from electric tears but i don't like the sparse arrangements as much. maybe a better question would be what is buckethead's funkiest album..?

  • @theycallmejpj dude, he has more than 30 albuns, you don't need to like metal to like the heavier buckethead, listen to The Rising Sun and you will cry, Siege Engine best solo IMO, listen to Soothsayer(perfect), and Notthingham lace(awesome solo, just beautifull), also check out WELCOME TO BUCKETHEADLAND, Crack the sky, Lebron and The Way To Heaven. everything is a must see, so please save that list, you will not regret it. my life would just feel empty without his music.

    thank you Buckethead

  • @theycallmejpj Bolt on Neck and Shadows Between the Sky are pretty groovy as swell :)

  • @MACONN42 thanks man, appreciate it

  • @theycallmejpj This isn't metal at all... "Colma" is more Trip-hop, "Population Override" is more progressive, its a concept album or kind of...

  • @BombayAGoGo i think you misread me dude, i said i got this album and i think it's fantastic, looking for more buckethead recommendations, but not something "metal" or shred etc =)

  • @theycallmejpj Without a shadow of a doubt you should get Electric Tears if you like the slow melancholy songs. Even know you dont like like the metal stuff i would also reccomend that you pick up Crime Slunk Scene and I just checked out A Real diamond in the Rough its pretty F'ing amazing. Sounds like you would be drawn to songs such as Big D's Touch and Padmasana those are two songs off the reccomended cds.

  • @theycallmejpj Hi there, check out titles of songs like Fractal Shadows, Oishii, Frozen Ghost (or Blue Marbles Moon, same song as they were named by fans) off the In Search of the (ISOT) CD.

  • @theycallmejpj Crime Slunk Scene. That's where my nick comes from. :P

  • @theycallmejpj Check out Decoding the Tomb of the Bansheebot

  • @theycallmejpj look up insearchofthe...

its full of everything thats never been heard before, much too seek from that collection, its a album collection by the way :D

  • @theycallmejpj electric tears is a very beautiful album too :) its a lot like colma though, but with less drums and a more electric feel, but imo it's one of his best albums that aren't too fast and aggressive. like nave said, shadows between the sky is also a good choice :)

  • Sorry. This is his best album. electric tears comes close, padmasana is one of his best pieces, but this album is the best...ever

  • @theycallmejpj colma!

  • @theycallmejpj Your gf introduced you to Buckethead? MARRY HER!

I recommend the album Crime Slunk Scene btw. Contains songs such as Soothsayer, King James, The Fairy And The Devil, just to name my favourites.

  • @theycallmejpj You could check out Electric Tears or, and this album is more like Population Override, Anatomize by Buckethead's other band Thanatopsis(it's a really great album, so you should check it out regardless).

  • @theycallmejpj Crime Slunk Scene, brillant or Giant Robot

  • @theycallmejpj I recommend his side band with Travis Dickerson called Thanatopsis.

he made this album with him and there music in Thanatopsis is very funky!

  • Most obviously Bucket resides on another plane of reality....This piece of music is genius..

  • I like the 00:40 part...

  • hes probably not from this planet:D

  • This is so funky!

  • This is amazing from a Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Satch fan!

  • what gets me the most is the amazing amount of really good music he has put out there. i challenge any human to listen to all of his material and not to appreicate it.

  • this is bs..... itunes doesnt have this album n i cant find any of his cds in stores

  • @AceGuitarR7 find it on internet, bro

  • I've been a BH fan for quite a while, but I'm still finding this endless stream of good albums by him. What a criminally underrated musician.

  • @kristofor12345 me too dude. i only own the album Mosters Vs. Robots which is ok but... all the music i've recently found is like... woaah

  • @secretagentsteve3 A Real Diamond in the Rough is his best by far, if you haven't heard it yet.

  • @kristofor12345 nah. i really did not like ARDITR. but dragons of eden and albino slug are much better newer buckethead albums.

  • @navebucketdude i liked in search of

  • the only shredder who can make his guitar fucking cry..this is fucking beautiful

love him as much as hendrix and slash n the other dudes..this is jus fucking magical

  • @AceInTheWhole94

was that a compliment for him?

  • @diaraam yea pretty much complimenting him dude :)

  • Ive just became aware of this album like yesterday, been creamin since!!

  • Travis Dickerson is on keys, right? Must bow down

  • soooooo chill

  • the only good parts are at 0:00 - 8:38

  • 0:36-0:43 is a total eargasm

  • such a magical album. takes me to a whole different planet

  • How could 3 people deslike this song ?

  • buckethead is awesome, No one else plays the way he does. For all of those idiots out there who think his music has no soul, you are completely wrong, check out electric tears or colma, or the rest of this album. Slash and micheal angelo batio are nothing compared to bucketheads technical ability or his soulful music.

  • @hutnon the song Colma gave me chiils its so creepy

  • I've got a song on my youtube account that I heard live & I've been trying to identify. I was referred to buckethead & this track in particular.

...What I heard doesn't sound like this though. Maybe you guys could help out? just go to my page & check out 'awesome unidentified live music track'.

  • @BacchusAdoneus i hope you are not lying and just try to get traffic to your page.

  • @navebucketdude

Erm, my channel isn't good enough to get traffic on it... just got a few friends and some people interested in classical lieder. I don't know enough about youtube anyway. Just wanted some help on identifying some track I heard at a pub one night, that's all!

Do you know what band/song it is? cause I've been looking for ages...

  • @BacchusAdoneus sorry about that sir. i looked at the video and i have no clue sorry man i hope one day your quest will end.

  • @BacchusAdoneus Hey Bacchus, Try taking a look at these albums: Electric Tears, and colma. There's another one that I just can't seem to remember off the top of my head. It Does sound like the Bucket, but then again, Lot's of people do these days.

  • @mymester i really disagree with you. NOBODY sounds like buckethead. very few guitar players are as experimental as sir bucket.

  • @navebucketdude i just got into buckethead today !!!!!! haha been searching and listening to his stuff here and on itunes and iam extremely hard pushed to think of an artist that is as or has been as experimental incorporating as many styles and genres as he does !!!!! and im a total buckethead novice and i see his talent straight away :)

  • overpopulation sucks.

  • santana should take a lesson ,from B.H

  • My Favorite buckethead album. The next deep space probe we launch out into the cosmos should play Population Overide on a continous loop. That will get there attention.

  • @zl2171 lol sound can not travel in space so it would be pointless.

  • @navebucketdude lol owned. Good idea though bro. I love population override heaps too man!

  • @navebucketdude bucketheads music can travel in space...the laws of physics do not apply here

  • @navebucketdude

It would be broadcasted as a radio frequency retard

  • @navebucketdude bucketheads can

  • @navebucketdude send it as a constantly playing radio transmission, light travels in space.

  • @navebucketdude but buckethead can travel into the space

  • O_O

  • Yeah, Travis is in it!

  • Wait, this album has Travis Dickerson in it?

  • @kinobiheart NO SHIT. he plays keyboards

  • NO SHIT. I knew that. >_> Just because a song has piano in it doesnt mean its travis Dickerson. I've heard Buckethead songs with piano/keyboard in it that werent played by Travis.

  • BERNIE WORREL and he is black

  • @navebucketdude bucket or bernie worrell?

  • say what you want about pinchface but he was awesome on this song i think.

  • @Cnote384 pinch face is one of the best drummers i have ever heard in my life he easily makes it in my top 5 drummers.

  • personally i prefer "brain"

  • @navebucketdude pinchface is not one of my favorite drummers even thou his charisma is unmatched by many players i just dont think his skills are as high as some other players, i prefer to hear buck with brain

  • hey say what you wantabout PInchface but he was awesome in this song.

  • 6:06 is the most beautiful sound in the universe.

  • Absolutely amazing. What's even better is most of this album was written on the fly, just jamming. So beautiful.

  • I've been listening to this song for the last hour....just keep re playing it over and over..never gets old

my fave part of the song is from 3:52 to the end

  • thats one giant part lol xD

  • Buckethead + Travis Dickerson = Win

  • i love this album

  • this song has good vibes

  • Im getting that early Al di meola like vibe.

  • one of my favorites

  • Such a good song!

  • holy crap what the hell is wrong with buckethead??

why is he so damn good?!?!

    ALL HAIL BUCKETHEAD!!

  • Atoutlem0nde if u think this is the best song on population overide go listen to too many humans u'll sht ur f**kn pants

  • @WeSTsiDeRuLeZ217 Too many humans is amazing too...

  • buckethead > george harrison

  • Very descriptive song. One of my favourites

  • The best musical accompaniment to the extinction of the human race ever.

  • @RealParadoxBlues what about jimi hendrix???

  • @RealParadoxBlues you haven't heard godspeed you black emperors f#a#∞ have you? this is great though

  • @BeauSylvester47 f#a#∞ is insane! anyone who hasn't heard it check out the song east hastings, this group is like a buckethead army with cellos and even crazieer instruments.

i like buckethead more but godspeed you black emperor! is right up there, they are addictive and not in the annoying radio way like a disney song, just sick addictive

  • Best song on this album, hands down.

  • fucking ridiculously good music man that just blew my mind

  • I love this Album but then come on its buckethead what album he made that sucked. Thx you buckethead for being there for me makeing my days better.

  • This is definitely one of Bucketheads best songs, I love this album.

So jazz-y, relaxed, with a touch of Pink Floyd.

  • truth

  • def one of Buckethead's top 5 creations

  • Buckethead takes me into a sanctum of another universe dips me in the loins of all gods and throws me back up into a universe of all that is called beauty!

  • sounds like my ex wife

  • Im sorry for your loss

  • i am only 17

    i am just joking

but thamk you very much either way dwarfie93

  • I truly love the name of this song :)

  • we've noticed :P

  • whos better? Bucket=thumbs up on comment Gilbert=thumbs down

if u make my comment look bad kiss the bottom of my nutsack

  • This song makes me feel like I want to know how I feel but can't feel anything, but at the same time feel so much.....

  • lol wtf is this guy on???

  • HaHa, I'm on soul and emotion.

  • What's so stunningly delirious about this album is Buckethead is totally letting Eddie Hazel influence not only his playing but the overall vibe of this disc.

This disc seems to be a deliciously packaged ode to the P-funkers of the past....and it works, in my estimation!

  • Indeed. Buckethead seems to really have his music influenced not only by musicians, but also just from the history of some of the people he has written tributes to. For example, EMAC has not only the sound of an elephant, but also has the irony of Joseph Merrick's (his actual name is Joseph, years of misliterature have led to the false ne of John) life IN the MUSIC. The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock sounds like a train at one point, in which Joseph was chased by a train until passing out.

  • *name Anyways, it's really astonishing for someone to make music just from the history of another. Also, " Oakridge Cake" is the funkiest, considering that Kool Keith was a rapper, and Buckethead can make a song JUST from that.

  • i love that lick buckethead does at 3:00 then the keyboard solo. GENIOUS!

  • one of the greatest guitar players of all time!

  • i think he is THE greatest guitar player of all time

  • i think gilbert and buckethead are kin or something.

  • gilbert taught bucket.

  • gilbert taught buckethead then buckethead surpassed him

  • yeap but he was teaching him rly short time

  • @navebucketdude Gilbert's after Bucket. IMO

  • @hbloops one of the greatest?? try, THE greatest

  • who's the keyboard player ?

  • Travis DIckerson

  • mmmm mm. epitome of chill music.

  • Jazz with a funk and shred feel. Buckethead you truly are the best guitarist living alive today. Only Hendrix would've accomplished something like this. Thank you for existing.

  • Travis's solo gave me chills man,i love jazz bucket.

  • Damn this song is funky

  • esta cancion es la ostia, me encanta!! (this song its amazing, i love this)

    un saludo deste España

  • acually, this song has many different instruments and the shredding is light, if u want shredding listen to other songs this is pure heart.

  • hahaha. this song has no shredding whatsoever

  • I fucking love this song, thanks to the uploader an Buckethead!

  • where is shut the hell up, can anyone link meh?

  • Gamefaqer...

  • There are times when i'm not feeling Buckethead's while he is shredding. However, on this song, and on many, many other songs from Buckethead, I think you are mistaken.

  • i bet ur one of those faggot jonas brothers fans.

  • Hehe, does the kurt in your name stand for Cobain? hehehehe

  • no. my name is kurt.

  • holy shit kurt2552, you just managed to get 23 thumbs pointing down, that's youtube-lingo for "Everybody fucking hates you".

  • (reply to kurt2552)

    >"no. i just know a sh***y guitarist when i hear one."

Have you even heard most of Buckethead's music?!

If you want shred listen to Soothsayer but don't call his a bad guitarist. Hecl, don't even listen to him if you hate him so much. Get off this website if you just want to be a troll and talk crap about Buckethead.

  • you didnt listen to the song did you?

  • yes i did.

  • and you know the "shredshredshred" is Travis Dickerson on the keyboard right?

  • just making sure. now then, where is this shred you tremble in your pants about, timewise that is?

  • "shredshredshred"? Your ears must have enough wax to make a candle. Yea I know that was cheesy, but honestly man! Did you actually listen to his guitar playing, or did you just mistake the keyboard as some sort of weird effect on the guitar? Because I'm really confused as to how you found any "shredshredshred" in this song. Yea, BH has some songs where he shreds, but a good majority of them involve very very minimal shredding to none at all. And when he shreds, he does it good.

  • useless troll
