@kennyfdny actually tai chi is an awesome fighting style but you have to do it for about ten years before you get anywhere near good enough to use it in combat.

its all slow movements untill a flurry of kicks hits you in the face from nowhere and every time you attack the fucker moves out of the way real slow but well in time.

Sparred with my friend who does Kung-Fu (Wing Chun), but personally never fought a taichi guy. ... from all I've seen, they seem more focused on Hand attacks....

well maybe the person u saw had a background in other Martial Arts too...

tai chi might be an excercise for breathing and relaxation but afaik,

tai chi chuan is a bad ass martial arts for oriental/asian special forces,

much like the seals in the US. Tai chi Chuan has one of those i'll squueze ur nut till it pops, or i'll gauge u'r eye out technics, it's damn right brutal and deadly.
