  • This was a fantastic version of Orange Blossom Special. Years ago I met Erwin Rouse, the man who wrote the tune. I gave him a lift in my car, when I lived in Nashville, TN and he signs a couple of autographs for me, one of them on sheet music of his famous tune. I think he also wrote The Great Speckled Bird.

Thanks for your very interesting comment.

  • @kitthevideoman I just did some Internet searching and it turns out that Ervin T. Rouse did not write The Great Speckled Bird. In the previous post I misspelled his name. His greatest tune, a bluegrass standard, is the Orange Blossom Special. He wrote another hit (how big I don't know) called Sweeter Than The Flowers. Mr. RagJazzMonkey Tom, you are a fantastic keyboardist. I salute you. You are very gifted.

It is not me at the keyboard. I am behind the camera.

There are very few videos on my channel with me in them. In order to see me making attempts at music check out Bridget's Hot Jazz Palace, the Trailer Trash Jazz Band, or the Doo Da Tap. I play trumpet, or at least try.

  • I can get my head around an organ that retails for £25,000 that has all the letters printed above all the keys like a £25 Bontempi.

  • If you want to see some fantastic artistry on a real Wurlitzer 3 manual theatre pipe organ do a search on You Tube for Richard Hills Plays Tiger Rag. All wind blown pipes with tonal and non tonal percussions. No electronics or speakers! Richard plays this variation at the end of every concert and it's never the same twice. Very talented.

  • the only people who buy these (as evidenced by this video and lowsy's own website) are old people with more money than sense. I feel sorry for their sons and daughters who will no doubt be pissed when they find out their parents spent their inheritance on an organ that they couldn't possibly hope to give away.

  • wow,i think it must be very very difficult to play this organ, with all theese buttons and so.

  • looks like a slot machine.. good thing you have the key identifir, s no way you could play with out

  • I am amazed that this song sounds so good on the organ! Love it!

  • Great playing Rex,,, I enjoyed every minute of it !! Don't ever stop !! You could very well take Tom Sholz's place in the rock group BOSTON if he ever passes away, just like Tommy DeCarlo took Brad Delps place - thanks for the nice treat on the Lowery - Steven :)

  • excellent!!! bet you could never pull that off with out the key indicators :-)

  • Good playing using fully automated bass and pedals as generated by the organ. no pedals being used and only single or double notes in left hand. I know I play this way too.

    Still brilliant playing.

  • This is a Lowrey Prestige, the latest from Lowrey Organ Company. Wow! A real professional organ and also fun to play on! Who wants a Hammond B-3 when you have fun on the top of the line organ and have the best of both worlds, professional features and fun to play on!

  • Hi Pat!

Thanks for the very informative comment! And, Thanks for watching.

  • @patsaxon That's a Stradust... not a Prestige!

  • @patsaxon Actually... It's the Lowrey SU500 Royale. The A5000 Prestige model has the Tabs above the Preset buttons, while this organ as you can see, has the Tabs below the Preset buttons. This organ was introduced to the market in 2005 and is still yet a very nice organ.

  • @patsaxon i want a b3 because im not paying 50,000 dollars for an organ brand i despise

i mean the sound i like you can only get from a b3 plain and simple

  • you play very well rex! keep it up!

  • Great job man. Lowreys are awesome. They've been my favorite for years.

  • I actually seriously have no like in the Lowrey business but this is the best and only best I have ever heard.

  • I wished that I could afford an organ like this? As you know Lowrey home organs are most expensive organs on the market? But what great musical instruments!

  • Anybody have an e-mail address for this guy? Would love to find out if he has any recordings. Does he play at that venue all the time?

  • Is there anyone who can tell me how I can get an e-mail to this guy? Would love to get a pro recording of that number for myt Podcast show. Can't use the one thats posted because of the heavy bass...and the water has me running to the john!

  • Hey that's my daddy!!!! :)

    Lexy Peterson :)

  • I hope you like him!

I think he ain't such a bad dude!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • That's awesome! I have a Virtuoso I got last month at Goodwill, and it is the best thing I ever bought. I hope to be anywhere near as good at it than what I saw here.

  • It looks like a Lowrey Stardust.

  • Great playing! You are terrific!

  • Awesome, truely splendid
