thats a horribly painfull way to go....... but they might do it cuz the buffalo come back and attack the lions before they can suffocate the victim, so if they start eating it right away they will likely keep their kill cuz its already half dead, its smart really....but horrible......

Awwwwwww that poor little elephant. It's acts like this that make me support killing lions. How cruel, I can only imagine the pain that baby elephant was going through.
