This may be a weird question but I do alot of renaissance faires and I am a vegan, does anyone have any good suggestions for making period clothing with animal and enviromentally friendly materials that will look accurate and not kill any animals?

Well, you can buy environmentally friendly fabric, with no dye, or natural dyes-try googling where to find them.(try the words, organic fabric) Also, you can use fake leathers/vegan leather, or faux fur too. Try also reusing cotton fabric and old clothes to make patterns, because at least that way, you can keep it from not being used again. Upcycling fabric is a great enviro-friendly habit. Also try Goodwill and ebay.

@PEEPSaPLENTY - find long sleeved top that fits you, lay sleeve so that the side without a seem is flat along the folded edge of your pattern paper (newspaper). Trace down seem side of your sleeve leaving an inch for seems. Use the sleeve shape you drew in your newspaper for vest front, to create the right size and shaped hole for you shoulder to join the vest. Trace so matches (think neck join concept in vid). Open paper and cut fabric out. Stitch up seem, stitch arm hem, stitch to hoodie vest.
