I didn't say that the song was bad i love it and am a jude/tommy fan all the way but the song lyrics make no sense if you simply read them outside of the sontex of the song thats all
what do you mean? The lyrics make sense- the message is summed up in "I don't want to let you go". What's there not to get? She got dumped and she's not over it.

however, i've been thinking and i think the song may possibly be about giving up someone that you don't really want. you know? you don't really want them anymore, but you'd still like them to want you, sometimes.

p.s. the song totally rocks whether it makes sense, or not.
