  • Mobile phone are a nuisance. They impinge on other people's enjoyment.

  • didn't intend to watch the "whole thing"--but an hour and 30 minutes later...

the Jimi Hendrix "guitar lesson" is pricless

  • 'English teachers are bitter twisted people, failed writers mostly' (1 hr 11 mins)--though he qualifies it by saying not the ones that buy his records!

  • incredible... wish i were there... xx

  • A truly wonderful man.

  • Good interviewers, great interview!

  • im sure ive met him when i was a kid but i think he just reminds me of all the nice people ive et

  • very sorry to text again, on every level really,

alls well, Robert Wyatt a real humun.

  • on a home level, his bright as a button and true as an arrow.

  • His whole speech, on englishness and how it took him so long to embrace, him being English, and how it matters to be different.

My respect for him went up evrn if possible.

Great man, Great strength, gods bless.

  • Hallo!

    Thanx for this great video!

One question: HOW did u upload a 90mins long videoclip?

  • interviewer girl is shite - basically just say "plese robert talk all YOU CAN"....

flippin heck let the man expand! Where the f*** is brains these days??

  • Glad to see Robert is still alive & well...living musical genius!!

  • three cheers for robert wyatt!!! possibly the single most influential artist among my friends & me. his music throughout his brilliant career demonstrates the value of honesty & humanity in art & music, & gives us hope on such occasions as the charlatans seem poised to ruin music yet again! they never succeed, because they're in it for the wrong reasons. robert's poise, honesty, sense of humor, humility & effortless wisdom inspire us all. (listen to me ramble on...that's the charlatan in me!..)

  • from "hope for happiness" to "comicopera," we've been with you every step of the way, robert.

  • he's a talented doll..he must be very proud of elvis costellos version of 'shipbuilding'

  • elvis costello wrote it - but it's forever wyatt's song

  • The man is a genius - brilliant musician, totally honest and unpretentious.

  • what can you say....

    great interview

  • thank you so much for this! Robert is a true genius of our time. ps - I don't think he was joking when he listed Janet Jackson as someone he listens to, despite the laughs :)

  • I love you Robert, thank for being you. It feels like having a friend I will sadly never meet.

  • Robert is great but the female interviewer was a bit much.

She tries to sound intellectual, but Robert is polite and rolls with it.

  • Well, I liked the girl interviewing. She seemed quite sweet to me.

  • unfortunately, i have to agree about the female interviewer. i think she means well, but she's definitely out of her depth. robert is, as you point out, exceedingly patient and polite, as we would expect.

  • One of the longest videos I've watched on YouTube and one of the most entertaining.

What a nice guy. Very ordinary but engaging, enlightning, amusing and genuine.

A musical genius, but still human thank goodness. A great antidote to so much of the "music industry" today.

  • Yes, I too watched this entire thing.I love his insight into music and making music, and an excellent sense of humour as well.

  • This is wonderful, Thanks for positing it! Robert Wyatt is a true original and becomes the heart and soul of any creative venture he's involved in . .

  • this is one very creative, brilliant individual. Thank you for posting it. Been listening to Wyatt for 25 years and this is the first really in depth interview i have caught with him so far. Robert, ever need a shakuhachi track on a CD, please call me :)

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • Great interview...i could listen to RW reading the phone book..thanks so much for posting

  • Thats funny, I feel the same way.His speaking voice has such a strong link to his singing voice and he always has great things to say.

  • Robert: quintessentially human.

  • Excellent comment.

  • I could listen to RW chatting for hours about life, the universe & everything!... He's got such a brilliant mind and sense of humour!!!

    Those 90min felt like 5! ;-)

  • yes- super interesting

    :-)

  • Thanks for this...

  • holy shit 90 minutes i have to go in 5

  • Thanks a lot for showing this! Great interview.

  • j'y étais et ce fut un moment très émouvant.

Robert Wyatt n'est pas un trésor national, quintessenciellement anglais, quintessencially british, mais devrait appartenir au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO
