  • theodore i would like to know what sort of chords or riffs culd i play with the harmonic minor because my guitar teacher tels me that if i whanted to just make a riff using the harmonic minor scale and tried to solo with it it woldnt sound good !pls help¡

  • @macelord200

    start with "A Harmonic Minor"

    the notes are A,B,C,D,E,F,G#

Start you riff from the root

pay attention to the G# in order the get the flavor

    of the Harmonic Minor scale

    it will sound great

  • @tziras are you the one in the absolut record ?.

  • @kira7741

    what do you mean??

  • @kira7741 in here, youtube(dot)com/watch?v=XG4GDIqSf14

  • Heyy iv been playing for almost 5 years, and i struggle with playing 4 notes per beat i just cnt play as clean or as fluent as u did earlier in the video. It might also have to do with me not playing with a metronome too much, Advice?

  • @MDOflims

start with 2 notes per beat.....

if you can do it slow then it is a matter of time to do it faster

  • Hi Mr TZiras,

What if my key is D & I want to use the harmonic Minor Scale, Will I just move to 5th string on A string (D) & play the pattern?

    Thanks!

  • @kaskas55

    yes..

  • @tziras Thank you Sir!

  • I would like to ask you is for this tipe of playing it's better use 0.9 strings or 0.10 , at the moment i use 0.10 ernie ball strings because i have a stratocaster and i'd like to have an heavyer sound but i guess that i's better if i change them, am I wrong? thank you

  • @eXtremo1254

there is no right or wrong

i prefer 9's, it feels better in my hands

  • @tziras thank you so much ^^

  • Very useful video. Thank you! I'm going to subscribe to your 'lick of the week' right away. Thanks again! :)

  • its incredible how 10 minutes can change your perception about something when its well explained. You sir are a musical genious, besides that at 2:30 "and now i will play very fast" and then 28935 notes per second, that made my day!!

    I really thank you

  • hey just wondering wen your talking about the major 7th wut does that mean? pay attention you say to the major seventh... so your playing in the key of a harmonic minor. there are seven notes... a b c d e f g#.... the pattern is 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7

is there names for each degree?? does this change in different keys.. maj, min? har min?

  • @NickDorndorf

hello....you already answer to your question

the major 7th is the degree that gives to the harmonic minor scale the "eastern" flavour

Harmonic minor is an Aeolian with a major 7th
