@LocatisLunatica I think Chris is amazing, but he is a young boy who just started his career, whereas Julie has had a lot of experience. She's in her late forties here, and she performed it on Broadway in her 50s.

She is a woman so it is not possible for her to just play a female impersonator without there being something in between. That is where the "Victor," character comes into play. She plays him even though she is a woman. Then the "Victor," character plays a female "Victoria." That is why the film is called "Victor/Victoria." There are 3 characters that are being played by Julie. Her main female character. The male "Victor," character, then "Victoria."
