You have NO IDEA how long I was stuck on this bastard!! Finally got him today when I realized you could make him flinch by hammering him while he's charging Destrudo. Turns out he deals less damage afterward, and you can seriously build up the chain gauge to stagger him quickly. Go figure. :|
@tomashart234 the more powerful u are the lower your target time is because they expect you to kill them that much faster because u are that much more powerful.
I also had a few problems with him too on his second form. When he charges up his one shot, switch to relented assault and pummel him till his stagger bar hits midway. He fumbles and his one shot becomes a regular attack.
I keep having troubles when he uses the Doom because I cant kill him fast enough...you did it without him even using the doom spell...and got 5 stars XD

When he's charging up for destrudo, turn yourself into a medic and let your two partners attack. While he's still charging, select potions but don't use them yet! as soon as he releases his charge, use it at that exact moment and quickly heal your team w/ cure.
Oh and watch out for doom. (There's no cure for the spell doom-- so you have to kill him ASAP!!)

the thing that shits me about this game is when you heal a team member, they fucking stand there and dont heal you back and then you die while screaming at a machine for not doing its bloody job grrrrrr. makes so mad i give this game a 3 for game play,
Actually the game isnt that great whatsoever not compared to others in my opinion i like the classic turn based but tweak the new gameplay abit and it would be better. The combat got fun in the third disk but thats bad for it to start being fun.

Someone finally agrees. i mean, look at this. True, it's not as open as the other FF, but had a good but confusing story and awesome gameplay, not to mention that you get great graphics and a system that requires timing and skill. They did great on the music and the characters were top notch!

See i ran through most of the game and now my charcs have only got 800-900 hp each. Tryin doin this boss in that state, cos its impossible....so i'm selling the game cos i can't go back and fight more enemies, and i ain't restarting the game from the beginning...........
@TGMav well u can always go back and farm theres a farming spot not too far from that position,where all the guards are atu keep fighting them for like a half hr to an hr then you will be alright

@Neji2XL Nothing protects you from doom. Not even reflect, it's always been like that. Slow does, well, slow it down, but nothing gets rid of it. That would just be too easy.

@MagicNeinStudios u could avoid it bt u have to time ur attacks well with lightning that flip shot she does as her final attack is actually an evasive tech as well as when lightning first cast a magic spell, when she jumps back its also an evasive tech. its just all about timing enemy attacks its really reliable
i got to this fight, and fucking did a backflip. i mean, its so fucking annoying when u get to his "IMA INSTA YOU, 3 TIMES IN A FUCKING ROW" move. thats how far i got, then almost broke my console. :P

Can say a lil bit un clishe. Not fight her, but she gets killed. hat is clished. Fight was simple basics of pent. shifting. Knowing when. If your doomed. It shows clearly you either clueless or suck. No one noticed she looks simmular to....certain..."bad breathed"- status aliment female in Wild ARMS 2?
Fighting Jihl immediately before Barthandelus would have satisfied the typical "Square" boss sequence...like the Spectral Keeper followed by Yunalesca, haha.
@RobertCrozier123 If you're talking about "Destrudo", you'll need to switch to a pure offensive paradigm like "Relentless Assault" and go balls-out with damage while he's charging. He'll make a noise and stumble a bit and the damage will be greatly mitigated once it does go off.
since they are making a dissida 2 I wonder if they'll make Jihl a L'Cie and be the anatagonist for Final Fantasy 13 in that game miraculosly. Probably not,but people can dream right? and it woulda been an awesome fight here if Barthandelus made her a L'Cie right there and then off her and take them on himself
@dajamsteryo If Sahz accompanies Lightning as a fellow protagonist from FFXIII, then Jihl could appear in Dissidia 012 (actual name of the game, I believe). The main antagonist to join in from FFXIII would be Dysley/Barthandelus/Superpope.
@ACroyale yeah I think its called Dissidia 012 Duodecim. Lol Super Pope. I saw the news this morning and and laughed because the pope was on and I thought of Dysley automatically. I would of expected Cid Raines to be an antagonist with Super Pope since we never seen Jihl fight.
THANKS for the Minimising-Destrudo part. I had a really good battle team, but because of that destrudo, I didn't get enough time because of the doom he casts. But you didn't even get doom!
i love it how his theme begins to play when he transforms...this part was completely unexpected when i played it...i'm like what the * an old guy is a super powerful being and i really thought they where going to fight jihl and capture him...any one else think that was going to happen
@justinlow1990 If you don't skip battles, you should have enough CP to fight this guy without any issue... at least, I killed him first try without any trouble, and I'm sure MasterLL was the same...
This boss battle irritates me to the extreme. He used Doom on me after I summoned Odin. Does anyone know what kind of equips I should use for this battle?
its really great how you beat him but you were really lucky too that he didnt use doom on you, he keeps on using it on me, thats why i cant beat him, but he didnt even once use it on you. i say that your lucky he didnt use it on you
I dunno what happened for me. I beat him on the first try with Lightning, Fang, and Vanille (which was my main party until after Hope gained Haste). I dunno how I survived. Got five stars, too.
The highest hp i got when useing vaneille, hope and lightening is 950. I keep hope and venille as medics while lightening uses VERY strong attacks with her lvl 25 weapon, i can easily destroy the heads and easily get the main head a quater of the way down with no summons etc i can survive the first destrudo but the second one kills everyone. I have NO shrouds and i cant beat him, so im fighting normal enemies around me to build my CP up to unlock attacks that will help.
Just beat this Super Robo Pope boss today, What an intense match that was. That destrudo move is a bitch. Even with Shell, Protect, and Veil on, he still does alot of damage to your party (almost kills me). And if I didn't have these on my party, I would've been dead instantly. THANKS BULLY PARADIGM!!!
All U Would Need For This Battle Is Fang Lighting Hope Or Vanille.. And Use A Fortisol And A Aristol Cause Its Cast Haste Bravery Faith Protect Shell And All.. Once u Do That Itz All About Combat Clinic And Relentless Assault I Got 5 Stars For This Fight
I can survive his attacks, but at around half-health he casts doom on Lightening. I can't get his health down fast enough, that's my only problem. ._.

@RobertCrozier123 If you're talking about "Destrudo", you'll need to switch to a pure offensive paradigm like "Relentless Assault" and go balls-out with damage while he's charging. He'll make a noise and stumble a bit and the damage will be greatly mitigated once it does go off.

since they are making a dissida 2 I wonder if they'll make Jihl a L'Cie and be the anatagonist for Final Fantasy 13 in that game miraculosly. Probably not,but people can dream right? and it woulda been an awesome fight here if Barthandelus made her a L'Cie right there and then off her and take them on himself

@dajamsteryo If Sahz accompanies Lightning as a fellow protagonist from FFXIII, then Jihl could appear in Dissidia 012 (actual name of the game, I believe). The main antagonist to join in from FFXIII would be Dysley/Barthandelus/Superpope.

@ACroyale yeah I think its called Dissidia 012 Duodecim. Lol Super Pope. I saw the news this morning and and laughed because the pope was on and I thought of Dysley automatically. I would of expected Cid Raines to be an antagonist with Super Pope since we never seen Jihl fight.

THANKS for the Minimising-Destrudo part. I had a really good battle team, but because of that destrudo, I didn't get enough time because of the doom he casts. But you didn't even get doom!

i love it how his theme begins to play when he transforms...this part was completely unexpected when i played it...i'm like what the * an old guy is a super powerful being and i really thought they where going to fight jihl and capture him...any one else think that was going to happen

This boss battle irritates me to the extreme. He used Doom on me after I summoned Odin. Does anyone know what kind of equips I should use for this battle?

I dunno what happened for me. I beat him on the first try with Lightning, Fang, and Vanille (which was my main party until after Hope gained Haste). I dunno how I survived. Got five stars, too.

The highest hp i got when useing vaneille, hope and lightening is 950. I keep hope and venille as medics while lightening uses VERY strong attacks with her lvl 25 weapon, i can easily destroy the heads and easily get the main head a quater of the way down with no summons etc i can survive the first destrudo but the second one kills everyone. I have NO shrouds and i cant beat him, so im fighting normal enemies around me to build my CP up to unlock attacks that will help.

Just beat this Super Robo Pope boss today, What an intense match that was. That destrudo move is a bitch. Even with Shell, Protect, and Veil on, he still does alot of damage to your party (almost kills me). And if I didn't have these on my party, I would've been dead instantly. THANKS BULLY PARADIGM!!!

All U Would Need For This Battle Is Fang Lighting Hope Or Vanille.. And Use A Fortisol And A Aristol Cause Its Cast Haste Bravery Faith Protect Shell And All.. Once u Do That Itz All About Combat Clinic And Relentless Assault I Got 5 Stars For This Fight
