Willy ,Does frank still have the north beach leather suit hes wearing on stage,,,,i collect tour jackets also,,,,,PS thanks for putting my FM still on the intro of this video,,,Cool Thanks WP,
I was there too. Was 17. Went to half dozen Day on the Greens. I always thought the Zepplin Day on the Green sucked for sound. This one was one of the best. I became an ACDC fan after this one
I was at this concert!!! Loved seeing this video 32 years later! Frank always impressed me as a musician, and it was truly a special day for musicians that day in 1979.
@mpression1 I was right up front too. I was also 15, but it was my second concert...I went to Boston/Sammy Hagar Day on the Green earlier in the summer. We took BART up from Fremont and spent the night on the sidewalk outside the gates so we could get up front. I still remember this as the best concert I've ever been to. IMHO AC/DC stole the show.
@Mover65 How funny, I was 19 when I went to this show and was thinking the same thing about my youngest daughter that is now 17. But then again, drugs were so rampant then. We didnt think anything of it. Was just part and parcel of our youth.
Whoa!!!!!!! I remember that concert in Oakland! Ted Nugent, Aerosmith etc. but...only one BLEW ME AWAY and that was Mahogany Rush!! I had never heard of Frank Marino before that concert but I became a HUGE fan and still am today! Thank you for posting this and for the great memories!!!
still got my ticket, it rained when frank played, but for AC/DC, aerosmith, and uncle ted the sky was blue, i was 14 when i went to this this thing, $14 ticket

Maybe the best Marino post ever. I have never seen a clear shot of his pedal board from those days.it's almost possible to make out all his effects.
