My younger brother was diagnosed with Autism and he is now 19 years old and, although he can talk to a degree and is semi-high functioning, he still has lots of trouble communicating with others. It's a really hard road that is going to be difficult for you to travel, your son to travel, and for your other children and family. That doesn't mean that there won't be great times, though. Good luck, it will be another great life journey! After all, your life is what you make of it. :)

The doctors' diagnosed me with Autisism at the age of 2. They told my mother that I would never speak, or even be able to function in soceity as a normal person. I'm 17 now. I speak and function just as well as anyone else. I can't say it was an easy road for me. I struggled alot. I still do, but never give up. Keep going. God bless you.

Doctors told my mother the same exact thing, that I may never be able to speak because I was diagnosed with Autism when I was five, but I was able to talk when I entered Kindergarten. A few months after she was born we discovered that she had a brain tumor, and when she was 3 years old she had to have brain surgery to remove the tumor they only gave her a 25 percent chance to live through the surgery , but me and my wife didnt give up hope. she made it through the surgery with no complications at all. the doctors where able to remove the tumor with no problems, so always have faith. god bless
