  • the goby at 2 27 is like hey i dont like the look of this guy

  • That Mandarin male is beyond beautiful! He looks so happy and healthy! :) Great job! The Scooter looks amazing as well! They are two of my favorites. :) Keep up the great work. ^.*

  • I want to get a mandarin or a scooter blenny. which one is easier to keep. I dont want to get both because of room. I have a Scopas Tang, a Yellowtail Damsel, a pajama cardinal, lawnmower blenny and a banggai cardinal. 10 kg of live rock and pods already in the water. which will be better in my envirement.

  • @ElectrifyStudios Hi, thx for your question, I would say that if you have a cover on top of your tank the Scooter is more likely to get use to the given foods. I mention the cover because I had two of them jumping out in the past.... Also, the Scooter are more resistent to bad water level. I have to say that when they are feed properly and they have enough copepods in the tank both fish are pretty hardy and are not really pick on by other fish...

  • nice vid

    thanx for the information

  • You know you don't really need a refugium;I raise copepods in a separate tank altogether and feed it phytoplankton. Good vid anyway!

  • @TheLiddleFishKeeper Yeah it's a good way of doing it...same principle than the refugium a safe heaven for copepods to reproduce... just more expensive...

    Thanks for the comments...

  • @MorpheusDreamer13 Ok cool and no problem, but I would still go with a refugium; raise macroalgae there and it helps your tank out a lot.

  • quick question... my red scooter blenny doesnt move?? or go fine food i have the tank set up just how it should be but he doesnt look good. can you help??

  • @Joshh2k10 It sounds like your scooter is sick... Did you just get it? Something it happen like that and they don't do well... If he is not moving and he doesn't get any food for more than a couple day it will probably die... Do you have a refugium and is your tank old enough?

  • i got a spotted manderin and im worried that he might not eat anything i dont have a refugium and i have a 30 gallon tank but i got him free so i couldnt pass up offer, any tips for feedding, i bought pods from store but id think he ate any when it fell from surface, please i need help.

  • This is HavePride1 - I see you've deleted my comments and blocked me, please delete your responses as well... we'll end the ignorant disputes, I agree, we both made somewhat hostile comments, eitherway, i'm going to favorite your video and subscribe to you due to the high quality of your video - have a good day.

  • @ProphetOdeth Done you're unblocked...

  • @HavePride1 I was going to apologize about me over reacting but the f*** y** i'm not sure anymore. Anyway, the only reason I did is not because of you putting comment about the refugium, but because of the grammar, because I don't like being judge on that.

  • fanstatic tank and fantasitc fish my friend, i really want a mandarin, but i don't have a refugium =[

  • What kind of gobies can i keep in a 25 g ?

  • Most gobies in fact, but it is a matther of which one go with which one... Clown goby are very nice, Scooter Blenny too but I would wait for the tank to be older, if you have a refugium than the Mandarin is an option. Neon goby are very nice too and you can have more than one... Yellow watchman goby can be in a tank that size, but he would probably be your only Goby... Good luck... I have a video coming up soon on Watchman and Clown Goby...

  • green clown gobie, yellow clown gobie, watchman goby, Firefish Goby

  • Nice. Is 50 gallons too small of a size to keep a mandarin?

  • @Matulite No problem with 50 gallons.

  • @MorpheusDreamer13

    Okay Thanks.

  • Thank you very much for your answer! The Mandarin looks good to me, he is really big and fat (4inch), the Banded Shrimp doesnt bother him....... I have two aditional questions, How could I know if my live rock has copepods? How they look like un the rock or tank? and how they are sold in an aquarium shop? Are they sold like the frozen Arthemia? Thank you my friend for helping me!

  • They look like tiny shrimp and you only see them at night... If you don't have night light use a flash light to look around your live rock. You need a lot to keep a Mandarin alive. The best petstore keep some live copepods in bottle, they are freshly take out of refugium and need to be sold within a week. If you have friend with refugium, you can take them from there.

  • Hi my Friend, I just bought a Mandarin Goby (Large) but my tank its not to old its just 2 months old, but I have a lot of live rock about 60-70 kilos! I just ad it yesterday among other fish and shirmp (Coral Beauty, Coral Banded and Fire Shrimp) all of them look Ok, but the Mandarin its always un a corner hidding, its that ok? its really fat and big in my opinion, how can I feed him or ad food to the tank for him? Thabk you.

  • Effectively your tank is pretty young... The 1st questions is about the fact that he is hidding... Yes can hide for long period and do not normally stay out... Once acclimated they normally go around the rock and sometime you get the luck to see him come out. About the feeding, 1st look in the refugium to see if you already have copepods. If not, I suggest you buy some for two or three months until your tank get self-sufficient.

Good luck and let me know if you have more questions

  • Also, you may want to know that your Coral banded shrimp will not miss a chance to catch the Mandarin if he can and that your Mandarin may be scared of him...

  • @MorpheusDreamer13 I had a coral banded shrimp rip a small tang in half if I did not see it my self I would of never believed it they can get nasty when they get bigger and would make a fast lunch of the madarine

  • @maroonclown1 Exactly, I would only suggest them in an aggressive fish set up...

  • @MorpheusDreamer13 Yeah i had one for two days and the shrimp snapped at everything so i sold him back to the store. they are very hard to catch in ur tank tho.

  • Mandarin DRAGONET..... NOT GOBY... Great video though...

  • Dragonet is the familly name for both the Mandarin and the Scooter... but the Mandarin is communly call Mandarin Goby despite the fact that he is not a Goby.

  • hey man thx for makeing this vid i just had 1 of these mandarins come in a order and i didnt order him. i curently dont have a refuge so if i add a bottle of pods about once every month with live baby and vitemin inriched adult brine shrimp should he do ok? pls respond

  • It is definitively going to improve the chance of the Mandarin. Depending on the size of your tank, the amount of live rock you have and if you have any other fish that will competition for the pods (I.E. Wrasse and Butterflyfish are likely to eat the pods when you add them to the tank)... Normally, it is best to add the new pods in the refugium for them to reproduce. The age of your tank will also make the difference.

    Good luck...

  • ty it is a 29 gallon biocube thats been up for about 8 months and i can see pods already in the rocks that i seeded at about 4 months there is about 27lbs of rock and the only fish r a clown fish , yellow tail damsial, purple fire fish and a stary blenny but unfortunaly i cant aford the refug right now but i did dump 2 more bottles of pods in the tank and have started my own brineshrimp and ty so much for the help

  • Cool but they are actually not gobies, While they are commonly known as the Mandarin Goby and the Mandarin Fish, they're true name is the Mandarin Dragonet

  • Look at the title at the beginning of the video... it's there for about 15 seconds...

    Thanks...

  • Nice video an beautiful fish and tank thanks for sharing.

  • AMAZING
