Very inspirational, sir. I am very into producing music, but I don't have money to study music production, buy reference books, and equipments. I learn by self study. I only have a laptop and midi keyboard.
Sometimes I end up breaking down because I lack these knowledge and stuff that I need to make the music that i really want. But then I manage to hold my head up high and think that with my love for music, even though I would not earn from it, I would still make music.
thanks for posting this, it means a lot hear the real story and hard work that goes into being a successful artist. hard to find genuine stories like this. peace
Mig, sometimes I think the universe responds if we truly need it to. I have been debating getting into production for the past 5-7 years and never really put much focus in it because of all the discouragement from my peers and my parents. I finally told myself, music is meant for me, and everything began to fall into place....i found a badass MAC computer, a copy of protools, logic, and reason. Now I stumbled into your videos that are so inspiring. One day long from now I will work with you!!
your genuine dude, takes alot for some one to help thousands of people and expecially when you don't get paid for it, much respect for you bro hope you get bigger than you already are
nice one mate... that was some high profile advice man i would say... you are right... definitely right bro... its hardwork, free work, hardwork, freework again, bit of luck then honesty all along... with hardwork... i love that... peace man !!!
Very good and inspirational story/speech there dude. Its so true about being honest with yourself. I am the same as you, in the sense that i just knew music was my purpose and i feel i am supposed to be composing and creating music. I wish you the best of luck in the future.
As I sit here and listen to you I think that your story will inspire that special person just like you. I feel like people that start out hungry and stay hungry even after the money & ect... that they continue to stay on top like you. I feel you & I truly hope you keep it up -Blaze Dem Trails DOG-
Well i'm honest, and I know this is what I want/need/should do for the rest of my life (along with photography), but I dont have the money yet to get the programs/equipment.
Hey guy, thank you for sharing your thoughts, as I am trying to put myself in putting my songs to be heard that's good to know that doesn't come easy, and of course if you believe in yourself so it will come with a lot of hard work, thank you mate

Migs, thanks or sharing. Im an Texas dj in Austin and this "market" is ROUGH for anyone who would play outside of the radio sequence. I just got a macbook pro and logic express and thank G-d you have these tutorials because I am at a loss for info. Peace, Beats and Soulgrease, kid G.
No doubt, if you don't believe in yourself don't expect anyone else to, and that true about being honest to yourself, there are a lot of wannabe in all fields not only music, where you might want to do something but in reality its not right for you, we all can't be producers, singer, or athletes. Find something you are good at it, and give it your all.

Thank you so much man. I've been at this for 6 years and just like you, I KNOW that I have "IT" with regard to my writing and production. So many close calls...
I seriously almost went to tears when I heard you say that you stayed at so many places struggling. That has been my life and I almost quit so many times but I'm still at it. You encouraged me a whole lot by your video. I really appreciate it. NY!!!
Steve, Cool vid nice to share the beginnings. The first pieces of electronic music equipment I got was a Roland TR-707, a Yamaha QX5 sequencer (no disk), a Yamaha DX100. I still have the DX100 and my second disk sequencer, the QX5FD (disk based) seen in my current studio vid here on YouTube.
Yo Groove,,,Thanks...I think its important for any up n comer to understand we're all just people and its ok to struggle and fight for what you want and that it may not be easy but it's worth it in the end. Most people are secretive about this stuff but I dont mind sharing a little :-) -Mig
