  • All Natural? Hmm.. I dont recall ever seeing a baking soda plant. >.>

  • I use a mashed strawberry Without baking soda because it will hurt your teeth and eat the toothpaste while your brushing:D

  • I use a mashed strawberry Without baking soda because it will hurt your teeth and eat the toothpaste while your brushing:D

  • Love it, thanks for sharing !

  • About how much are tall he ingredients??

  • Man that's a lot of baking soda to use on ur teeth everyday

  • Thanks , keep on it .

but i need you to write the items you use in the description under your clip . that's better to copy and paste it in notes . :)

  • ILoveYou!

  • Access of everything is bad...for some people baking soda is poisoning and for other it is ok but not good. Couple of drops of essential oils to consume in a glass of water are fine to do, they are 100% pure oils from herb and spice. I use clove oil for mouth sores...it heals the sores over night.

  • You MUST know what you're doing coz your teeth is immaculate

  • She has the whitest teeth I have ever came across.

  • thus girl so sexy

  • i dont care what others say about your vid but i like you!

  • I'll stick with Crest Pro-Health Night.. if I'm going to rape my teeth of enamel, I'm going to do it right, dammit!

  • she's beautiful! and smart too!

  • get a job hippie

  • Your such a cutey!

  • hai hai, yeah hydrogen peroxide is a poison

  • @Mannwichsandwich1 not in small ammounts but the prozac you take is dumbass. and so is flouride.

  • @4everhdt H2O2 is extremely dangerous when ingested, and so is that dick in your mouth

  • i liker her shes pretty

  • I understand that the Hydrogen Peroxide should be food grade, but where can you get it at a reasonable price.? Also, can you add things to condition and add strength to your teeth? What would you add?

  • OMG SHE'S TELLING ME HOW TO MAKE TOOTHPASTE?!

    If you disagree with her

methods, go poison yourselves with regular toothpaste,

or avoid toothpastes at whole. shut up, and watch another video.

otherwise, thanx for the upload, very helpful :3

  • @atthespeckofdawn Lol, what's wrong with regular toothpaste? xD without it, most people wouldn't have teeth. Also, they would all have rank breath.

And I don't know much on the subject, but if flouride really is toxic, well that's probably why you're supposed to spit the toothpaste out. However, when I was little, I thought you were supposed to swallow it and I'm still alive. If the amount of flouride they put in toothpaste was capable of killing, they wouldn't put it in.

  • @MrMonkeypooface You're wrong, there is enough flouride in a tube of toothpaste to kill a small child. It really IS that toxic and before you weigh in I'd recommend doing some research. Sorry to bite your head off but ignorance is not bliss, it's just ignorance.

  • @NeoPrepper Fair enough. You're right, I haven't done research. It just seems a little odd to me that I've never heard of any deaths by flouride, or heard of any lawsuits against toothpaste companies. Perhaps that's just because people are rarely dim enough to swallow a whole tube of toothpaste.

  • @MrMonkeypooface True, but little kids may enjoy the taste of their toothpaste and eat the whole tube... Look up fluoridation of teeth or bones and you'll see how it is NOT helpful in making harder teeth. Take care. :)

  • @atthespeckofdawn well alright but i'll be the one laughing when your teeth ware down with the amount of baking soda in that death paste :b

  • @1342316ashley

    "death paste" LOL

no, it's not as harmful as average toothpastes.

sure, Baking soda can seem a bit abrasive, but

I buy the finely powered kind, and my teeth are still white.

And most toothpastes have baking soda/peroxide in it...

    just read the label.

I'd rather make my own paste than get poisoned

with flouride. It causes more damage than good

  • Really bad channel ... I remember used to be better RIP bye Threadbanger UNSUBSCRIBE

  • after reading all these comments, ill just stick with my Toms all natural toothpaste instead

  • Guys, in case you didn't do research, the hydrogen peroxide used in here is originally from concentrated 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. You first dilute this into a 3% solution: mixing 1 part 35% hydrogen peroxide with 11 parts water. THEN you can use it in whatever quantity required for this toothpaste. Moreover, hydrogen peroxide is an acid and baking soda is a base. Mix these two together and whoever has even a basic knowledge of chemistry can tell you that acid + base = neutral solution.

  • if you were reading through the comments wouldn't you have noticed that everybodyt hates this new channel?!?

  • THAT IS IT IM DONE WITH THIS NEW THREADBANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNSUBSCRIBED

  • Theadbanger sucks now, except for secretlifeofabionerd. I'll just replay the old threadbanger in my head. If they magically listen to us now, then i won't unsubscribe!

  • ONLY A FEW!!!!!! Why don't you make videos based on what A LOT of people want to see?

  • so not gonna try this paste at all, I'll just buy one

I do miss the old threadbanger, but I think the bionerd girl is allright

  • To the ignorant person who said not to use hydrogen peroxide in your... Read your whitening toothpaste label and read the peroxide bottle. It's meant for the mouth...aye stupido

  • @ludacris004

I'm not ignorant - the agents used in whitening toothpaste are agents like carbamide peroxide or sodium tripolyphospate. Hydrogen peroxide is not the same. Careful with your definitions. After all, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide are "nearly the same" too by your standards.

  • @Nyctophora I'm not sure about toothpastes, but hydrogen peroxide IS the active ingredient most teeth whiteners such as crest whitestrips and such. But to use it in a diy toothpaste, i'd be careful. Would probably cause tooth sensitivity more than anything. Also, I personally would rather just buy toothpaste. I wouldn't use anything without fluoride.

  • @cheesecake8

fluroide is toxic, a dangerous ingredient.

why do you think there's a label warning

if swallowed. I'd rather take a chance on this

alternative, than the chems thrown in toothpaste

    products.

I wouldn't use anything WITH fluoride.

But, you're right about the tooth sensitivity thing though

  • Hydrogen peroxide in your mouth??? Please don't do this!

  • Really, REALLY!!!! HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN TOOTH PASTE GO BUY SOME!

  • @TheKennaKen

Not everyone wants to waste the money on toothpaste that is full of chemicals that in the long run are destroying your body

  • YAY...lets all go poisoning people with toothpaste on threadbangers

  • I hate how she Flicks her head when she talks. i hate her, go be your little eco-friendly self somewhere else. we don't want you.

  • Threadbanger is HORRIBLE now there is nothing that people want to do anymore.. sooo UNSUBSCRIBED

  • I'm going to drop this subscription like a hot rock if you guys keep ignoring us. We want sewing crafts and tailoring tutorials. This is why we subscribed in the first place. A few DIY body products every now and then is nice. This is the final thread. Do you even read the comments on these videos or are we just wasting words? What is this load of bull? You can't have a channel if everyone is unsubscribing.

  • Look please make some DIY fashion videos. I like the eco stuff but what I really wants is some clothes especially for halloween. If our demands as your fans are not met I will unsubscribe and I am sure that I am not the first and I won't be the last.

  • i'm still holding out a little hope... i guess this would be okay if you ran out of toothpaste, but i guess i can say a lot of these crafts that she does are a little too elementary school. they'll probably get better after a while, besides, no one can beat old threadbanger.

  • Too much baking soda might not harm your mouth now but when you grow up and older all of the baking soda used will make your gums thinner and your teeth start to get loose. This happened to my aunt.

  • ugh. If anyone is sick of where threadbanger has been going, I currently have 14 sewing videos on my channel that you might want to check out. I'm more into sewing/tailoring than "diy," but it's better than this.

  • if you're going to use hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate it's hardly any more natural than the one from the store

  • why wouldnt you just go buy the toothpaste...it can go as cheap as a dollar.

  • guys lease give her a break. Shes taking over Megan seccion of the show. If you are going to comment say somthing productive.

  • no chemicals? well whats with the hydrogen peroxide and the baking soda?

  • so is this safe to use or not?

  • @Sweetzd12 Safe for occasional use, but not good for your teeth in the long run.

  • Comment removed

  • @Evange thanks! I just think I'm going to skip this...

  • Pretty much everything can kill you in small or large quantities (yes even plain water). Complaints and rants do nothing here.

  • COME SEE TUTORIALS ON HOW TO MAKE SKIRTS, TOPS, DRESSES, JEWELRY AND HEADBANDS !

  • hoooly crap, I would hardly call hydrogen peroxide "all natural". Cyanide is also natural- don't wanna put that in my toothpaste either.

  • @himynameishelen

    100% agree..

  • @himynameishelen Your liver has special cells called "peroxisomes" for breaking down peroxide.

Is hydrogen peroxide natural? No. Safe? Yes.

  • Hydrogen peroxide? You really, really shouldn't use this on a daily base to brush your teeth. Of course you'll spit out most of the paste, but there will be still a small rest that you swallow, and that's not very healthy!

  • wheres that thread you're supposed to be banging??

  • @sadbunny123 Dumb ass, THREAD as in SEWING THREAD.

  • @fedocoCOCOA yes, I know. what did you think I was referring to?

  • i think she turns her head too much ..

  • its not the projects i have a problem with, i'm all for DIY of any kind and green living. she just doesnt have the same "stage" presence as bionerd or any of the old crew. performance/persona needs work.

oh and if anyones interested starting october 18th Meg is doing a show on curbly.com

  • @Naina502 i guess so.. i was completely happy watching BioNerd's videos until she went on a rampage through the comments here.. After that, my opinion of her has sadly dropped way down (even lower than tracy)... She absolutely did more harm than good... oh and Meg's been posting videos on craftzine's youtube channel too! *happiness* =)

  • @sugarashley Agreed. -_-

  • Threadbanger is all about creating your own style, it's about being unique and standing out, not making your own toothpaste O.o

  • you could also just put a little water in some baking soda. my parents do that every day and night. my dad's grandmother just brushed her teeth with baking soda in a little water, yeah it tastes bad but she had pearly white teeth til the day she died. and she didnt have to put harmful hydrogen peroxide in your mouth. you absorb more than you think through your mouth. you dont want hydrogen peroxide in your mouth. just use water.

  • Comment removed

  • @CrazyKnitterGma this sounds so much better than the hydrogen peroxide.. thanks! i knew it couldn't be good to put hydrogen peroxide in your mouth... u're bound to swallow a little and god knows what kinda havoc it'll cause in ur body.. =)

  • @sugarashley

Yes, it ist actually classified as "harmfull, if swallowed". (R22)

  • @TashiroPirat yikes! i hope no one tries this at home man.. would hate for something horrible to happen to them should they accidentally swallow it! =S

  • @sugarashley you're welcome :) glad I could be of help. and yeah if swallowed I dont even want to know what it would do to your innards... be very bad Im sure.

  • Awesome! I really have to make this... I hate the fact the I'm brushing my teeth with poison (fluoride) that according to studies show is actually bad for your teeth in the long run.

    Thank you for posting this!

  • =.= u could just buy tooth paste from the marker for like 2 bucks

  • this is awesome! my mom told me to gargle with hydrogen peroxide everynight and before brushing use baking soda... and now combine them!! awesome!

  • great recipe and it will whiten as well thanks to the peroxide

  • Interesting, I don't really know that I'd use this more then my normal toothpaste but it's good to know how to do it!

  • dosent like peroxide kill you if you consume it ?

  • @Kyo12h Well... so does sodium fluoride (look at the back of your typical toothpaste tube). There's even a poisoning warning in case you swallow more than a pea-sized amount. So, like all toothpaste, spit it out, don't swallow... and rinse!

  • I miss the old TB. This is not DIY craft stuff. :(

  • Want some good "green" craft tutorials and "green" interviews, visit my you tube channel.

  • You need to purchase a microphone. They aren't expensive.

  • This is actually kind of dangerous ... So much baking soda can wear down the protective enamel of your teeth. In dental school they specifically tell us that no matter what any 'all natural' recipe says, baking soda is too harsh and too abrasive to be safely used in such high quantities.

...also..essential oils are for scenting things...you aren't meant to consume them.

  • @ohmyfeilunhai essential oils arent for scenting things, those are fragrant oils. essential oils are completly different

  • @ohmyfeilunhai I hope ur dental school tells you that fluoride is extremely bad for you, and does nothin for you teeth .

  • @ohmyfeilunhai But they probably taught you that flouride is good for you right?

  • @suspendmeassholes fluoride is good for you....in toothpaste, but unfortunately they put it in our water, and that's not good for you because you end up consuming a lot of it.

  • Can you teach us how to make bath or bar soap?

  • @pianopianopiano4 Soap contains lye and is a VERY dangerous process if you make it completely from scratch. D: (My mum does occassionally with loads of protective gear and still lye-burnt the skin off one of her fingers. You don't feel it happening until it's already too late.)

Alternately, if you go to a craft store, you can get clear glycerin soap and soap-shaping kits/molds. So it's just melting and pouring, and not too terribly dangerous...

  • whatever happened to the cool nerdy tutorials? i miss old threadbanger. it's too girly for this geek.

  • Um...I know this might sound crazy, but I thought that essential oils were for scenting things, not flavoring things. Isn't it unhealthy to have something that you should not consume in your toothpaste?

  • @Pieisforme Some are edible, but you have to be very careful since they are very very concentrated.

  • @lossunbearable And neither are too terribly cheap. But a little DOES go an extremely long way. So it could be a year worth of toothpaste if that's all you used the stevia/mint oil for. (PEPPERMINT oil helps reduce stains*, spearmint is probably more for taste.)

*Says my mum. So you might wanna research that.

  • ...I miss the old Threadbanger... :(

  • you were reading through the comments eh? ...And you came to the conclusion that we wanted toothpaste... Something tells me you didn't REALLY read through the comments.

  • I don't see why this would be useful when I could just as well buy toothpaste in a store..

  • While this is helpful for some, it's not why I subcribed.

I give up, I'm unsubscribing. You guys really need to change the name of this channel.

  • i dont lissent your voice, you must better this

  • okay, let me get this straight: you definitely shouldn't use this!! i guess it might be okay as a quick fix to give you better smelling breath with the mint oil, but not everyday! tooth paste has two jobs: clean your teeth and SUPPLY MINERALS to your teeth! (like flouride etc) if you dont get these essential minerals that normally come in your everyday toothpaste, your teeth will "soften" and be corroded!

and god forbid, dont swallow that stuff... just terrible, really...

  • threadbanger went hipppie on us... where are our sewing toutorials?!?!

  • I am disappoint

  • My comment was removed? No.. No. All I told her was to realize some people are going to have negative comments and she can suck it up and move on, or continue to whine. You let her disrespect the fans, and make crap videos. You've lost a subscriber AND a fan. I will not go to the website or any other thing any longer. AND i was blocked on my real name. SCREW YOU GUYS! That's just unreal that noone can have an opinion. And deleting my comment just shows how ridiculous you've become.

  • @984Coleman they deleted my freaking comment too! ridiculous right?! and i wasn't mean or anything... seriously ridiculous!

  • Even if it is not sewing related, this is still a useful post. If you don't want to make baking soda toothpaste, I recommend dusting a little baking soda over your regular toothpaste for a whitening effect. I started doing that almost a month ago and there is a difference (not super strong, but it's there). I don't recommend brushing with baking soda all the time, as it is fairly abrasive. Keep up the good work.

  • @lossunbearable The whole making it at home with stuff she probably already had, and stuff that is SUPER cheap probably doesn't have anything to do with it, huh? :3

  • Geez! The whole paste is pretty much just baking soda.

  • Threadbanger is dead.

  • @ElliotQQ2 damn strait

  • why was my first comment removed??!!! i didn't say anything bad in my comments! wth... I was just standing up for a fellow viewer who was being yelled at by @SecretLifeOfaBioNerd.. seriously?! so now all our comments to KL is being deleted but it's alright for her to go rampaging through the comments criticizing everyone?! now i'm pissed...

  • I made this on elementary school.

  • Guys, they're doing the best they can, chill out. I know we all miss the old crew, but it's no reason to be rude to the newbies!

  • wow ... i really think im going to unsubscribe..I went from learning all these cool DIY scarves and jackets ...to toothpaste?????

  • o___o Threadbanger has become a war zone...

  • guys one of threadbanger core values is being eco-freindly and this is eco-friendly as it reduces the steps done by factories and it is better for you since it only contains baking soda (which most people eat everyday in the form of food) and H2O2 (which is water with added hydrogen).

  • How about a diy herpes medication for the host.

  • @downtownlocke HAHA!!

  • What is this shit!!!!!!! I hate to be rude but Threadbanger sucks now. UNSUBSCRIBED.

  • So it may not be "thread"banger but I don't see it as much of a stretch from the thrifty and frugle mindset of a DIYer. Making stuff instead of buying it has been a staple for Threadbanger. Perhaps there needs to be a subset, subcategory, or offshoot of somekind that can incorperate ideas like this instead of lumping it in with the expected thread/sewing related posts.

  • Do you need someone to do sewing tutorials? My life is dedicated to sewing an DIY and I'd love to see threadbanger back to its DIY sewing tutorial days. I'd be willing to do it

  • @morbidprincess19

i hope they accept you! I would love to see other people designs too. n_n

  • Okay, for everyone saying that hydrogen peroxide is horrible for you - Honey naturally has hydrogen peroxide in it and has been used as a natural antiseptic since the Civil War.

Not the best video. The sound is way off. Is your mic working okay?

Maybe, since October is coming up you could make some videos on how to make an eco-friendly Halloween and/or Oktoberfest.

  • wow.....thats its, im officially unsubscribing.

  • @sugarashley It's because t gets tiring to see TONS of bad comments in ever video... Ppl can be such whiners, I suppose KL has gotten fed up of them.o.o

  • @akissy don't get me wrong, i'm all for sticking up for your fellow TB but KL only fueled the war by going all defensive in the comments... It would have been nice to see comments from Tracy addressing the issues instead of KL. At least then the viewers know that their comments are being taken seriously and that there is an actual plan to improve on the videos and more will likely to stay subscribed..

  • @sugarashley You have a point, because it would be nice if Tracy answered personally like KL does. But try to stand in her shoes: maybe she's got way more going in than just TB. o.o Not everyone has the luxury of just doing what they like. o.o

  • But you're right. That's why peroxide is in brown bottles

  • @ericg28 it's H2o2 not H3O

  • This is a nice idea, but I thought baking soda weakened your tooth enamel if you use it all the time.

  • did she say hydrogen peroxide?

yeah i'll go brush my teeth with bleech? wtf?

  • @HelloMyNameIsHelen It's bleach, sweetie.

  • @HelloMyNameIsHelen *bleach, but hydrogen peroxide is not bleach. Dentists recommend gargling with it if you get a tooth extracted, things like that. It's not harmful unless you swallow it (and you don't swallow toothpaste anyways, I hope).

  • @silllyniecy and @akissy sorry, typo, i meant *bleach >.<

  • I can't hear anything. Is she talking or miming? If there is no Fluoride in the toothpaste it doesnt work. Only Fluoride can prevent tooth decay and clean the teeth. I'll stick to the super market brand, thanks.

  • I'm sorry:I didn't understand the second ingredient (I'm not english mother tongue).Thank you.

  • @siver7272 Hydrogen peroxide, it comes in brown plastic bottles in the US.

  • @silllyniecy Thank u! :)

  • * make sure you put it in a contrainer that light wont pass threw, when H30 is exposed to light it turns to H20!

  • I was hoping she wouId say, "I've been reading through the comments, and I see that EVERYONE KNOWS HOW MUCH I SUCK!"

  • @ilikepebbles I'm just pleased she addressed us as threadbanger....

  • @ilikepebbles ur a jerk...come on be polite and constructive of hush!

  • I really like this idea :)

  • peroxide is fine to put into the toothpaste, people use peroxide to gargle when they have sore throats an other mouth issues, just for the love of god DON'T SWALLOW IT!!! Same goes for flouride toothpastes, flouride is literally a poison! DON't SWALLOW any toothpaste, unless you use pure baking soda, in which case, go nuts...

  • @yahvinah1 "unless you use pure baking soda, in which case, go nuts..." LOL the hilarious image I got in my head of someone gobbling large quantities of baking soda . . .

  • @asdfghjkl4355 please be constructive..and don't call people names like that..it's rude and childish !

  • The thing is, if you use fluoride-free or triclosan-free toothpaste (whether it's store-bought or homemade), you won't have the anti-gum disease properties that these chemicals provide. I'm not saying they're essential; just that you'll have to brush more rigorously.

  • @SherlotteR LOL rigorous brushing....my gums are bleeding just thinking about it !

  • @SherlotteR or use floss more o.o

  • @akissy I think that's oversimplifying a bit. :D

Fluoride also helps enamel development, and makes your teeth physically a smoother shape, so it's easier to remove plaque.

  • They had DIY stuff on the old Threadbanger, too.

  • toothpaste.... can you show us how to make something cool to wear??

  • wow hydrogen peroxide on ur teeth? is that dangerous?

  • @stevegrca No, actually, it's safe :) On the back of a bottle of hydrogen peroxide it says you can use it as a tooth whitener.

  • @talentofnone I hear you! One person can only do so much:( I really REALLY miss RCM!!!! This is sad.

    Gothictany

  • @gothictany73 Thank you. :)

  • @mztadobolina awesome tip! I will keep that in mind!!
