It doesn't sound right because material off of this album was meant to be less tight and more primitive sounding. They probably should stick to their later material.
this is the best thrash music ever made, and believe me, i know them all. There are 2 albuns every true thrasher must have: 1- Onslaught - Power from hell
2 - Slayer - hell awaits
humm, and maybe, maybe, another one, Possessed - Seven churches
true, by the way, also, Artillery - fear of tomorrow and two demos, one from Dreamdeath and the other from Desexult. And today, besides Gojira whats happening?
well there are some pretty decent thrash bands out today like toxic holocaust, deathhammer and merciless death but it will never be the same as it was in the mid 80's.
Don't forget Necrodeath - Into the Macabre... that album really is Hell Awaits #2 if slayer had continued on that angle but heavier and faster and more satanic!
Onslaught is one of the most, if not the most, under-rated thrash metal bands. Their new album fucking rules but I don't think most usual thrash metal listeners even heard about it.
If you have heard only 10 thrash bands, blame yourself. "Usual thrash listeners" - do you mean teenage Exodus, Machine Head and Mitallika fans (fags)? Onslaught is really widely known, has lots of fans and is really kicking.
Aaah, you're so damn lucky. Over here I'm lucky to even know what metal is. Fortunately I have their album Killing Peace but with no thanks to this place. I have needs too!! I wanna bang my head and mosh while seeing these bastards live. But as long as I'm here I might as well just forget it.
aye dude, this sounds so fucking terrible compared to the original. I'm tired of thrash bands from back in the day downtuning their guitars to shit. Destruction doesn't do too bad, but they completely destroyed that main opening riff, and the vocals are shitty as hell.
You're right Destruction still kicks it out fairly consistently. Have you heard that re-recording of Deathrider by Anthrax with John Bush on vocals? They made the verse riff all moshy and gay. Totally pointless along the same lines as this version.
One of many bands going back to what they did best after trying to milk the cash cow by going rocker/glam. Celtic Frost did the same thing. Good band but their mistake was doing the lame rocknroll stint with Steve Grimmett because they weren't very good at it.

This song sounds stupid now. I don't mind when bands revamp songs as long as they make them sound fresh and invigorated, this is just butchery
