Totally epic and awesome. I actually slightly prefer your video to Prince of Macedon's as yours is more no-nonsense. History Channel quality and VERY well made. I salute you, Sir, on your video as well as your battle management skills. Napoleon always stressed overwhelming power at the point of contact as it would give an outnumbered force a chance to withdraw or turn the tide. I believe your opponents' main fault was failure to coordinate their efforts in any meaningful way. Keep 'em coming!

oh ok...thats close to what I was thinking...as to heavily arty barrage the enemies defensive line...but, you see you & I both know that no ones gonna sit & take massive amounts of arty fire at a river crossing, & lets say your men are out of my range but mine arent, yet, so I pull mine back and you push up as fast as you can but since I'm not at risk of friendly fire from my cannons I direct fire on you & it takes you longer to reach the river while me not so much at all. then what?

that's the thing about river battles and stalemates. whoever makes the first move usually pays for it. you have to force or hope the enemy makes a mistake. when he does you need to take advantage of that. the only way you can force a mistake is by creating diversions. feign an attack on another part of the river or pretend like you're retreating or maybe you can just push far back so that he can safely cross the river and wont have to worry about fighting in a bottleneck.

if you show him that you're willing to fight on flat ground away from the river (by staying back) he might accept and start crossing. once he's crossed with half his men rush forward and cause as much damage as you can :)

its not easy and there is no right thing to do. it really comes down to who makes a mistake.

That was absolutely brilliant..but with the presence of both strongly defended sides of infantry on either sides of the river what would be the strategically wise choice without charging a well defended line?

thats a very common situation in maps like this...if you can't create a diversion or flank, the best thing to do is to pound the other side with artillery and try to take out the enemy's guns before he takes out yours. that will force him to retreat away from the river allowing you to cross or it will force him to come to you giving you an advantage.

in a later vid you said that they where a lot of comments because the opponenents are weak. in your defense it is really hard to find a good evenly matched game with no campers or quiters. but you also have another problem. i am a meadiocre player and when i am up to a much better player they can put me af balance.

this means you don'tt have a plan so you look like a noob. but you would not make these mistakes if you feel confident

I cant really remember but the initial attacks by my opponent pretty much crippled him and Aileron's army alone could've easily repelled any frontal attack across the bottlenecks in the center so I was too worried about sending a big force around the side of the map. It worked well.

It was an intro from a youtube video on a hacking competition or something... one of my close friends recommended the music. I don't know what the actual composition is called though. So much for copyright lol and I don't remember what that video I stole it from was called :S
