The OVA is the real old school anime to the guyver series. I am sad that they stoped the new anime though they have so much more to finish but this anime was more true to the manga so it was not bad. Guyver is still amazing. I do not remember this song for this scene though. I know that song is old school though haha.

Is it just me or do all the great animes only last for 40 episodes max?

I dont see the point in dragging a protracted and seemingly pointless story of how a guy goes from strength to strength for over 400 episodes where the outcome is always the same.

Bleach, Naruto, Dragonball/Z and One piece all do this and for each of them i lost interest after the first season/saga. People must have really poor taste if they like being fed the same thing year in year out.

Past: Vinland Saga, Ravages of Time and Berserk.

Future: Battle Angel Alita, Blame and some of the older Gundams and possibly Macross.

You say something like «Air Gear is quite good» which is within their comfort zone. By doing that you're indirectly introducing them to Tenjou Tenge which is one of the better gateways into seinen.

@thesniper321 I watched Karas and Elfen Lied when I was 15. If I wasn't impressed then, I doubt I am now, over 10 000 chapters of manga and over 200 animes later. Monster is quite decent I'll grant you that, but it's a snoozefeast for basically anyone that aren't into the genre. Gurren Laggan is by definition a shounen and is basically everything you accused One Piece, Bleach and Dragonball except with a bit better grapics, humor and Kaminas death.
