Boxey was Apollo's stepson in the original series. a kid named Boxey makes a couple of appearances, but both his parents are dead, and he has no relation to Apollo. Muffit the robot dog is not in the new series.

The closest thing the show comes to in regards to the Imperious Leader is Brother Cavil, aka Cylon Number One. He is, in my opinion, the best character on the show and the closest thing the Cylons have to a Republican like myself.

The original cylons DO make an apperance in the movie Razor (I think), if that makes you feel any better.

Personally, I think the humanoid cylons make things much more interesting. They're the perfect spies an sabetours.

The Lucifer type cylons were seen in the old series, they acted as advisors to Baltar and did not look like centurion cylons.They wore big capes, had a human sounding voice and had lights that went off in their head as they thought.
