With AMCs optional bumper guards your new Matador will go through outhouses with ease! And they pesky Toyopets? You'll just slice the roof right off and before you know it you're enjoying a day at the beach. American Motors truly means more for Americans!
I'll have to check it out. Thanks. What year was the Vista Cruiser? Who was driving which vehicle? Do you know? I've never seen the episode, so I don't know.
Its a 1969 Vista Cruiser. The Fall Guy took stock footage from the movie Moving Violations to piece this together. In the Fall Guy episode Lee Majors is driving the AMC Matador. The movie is entirely different and the chase scene is extended.
Yes from a Fall Guy epiosode but come to find out the greater car chase scene is from a movie called Moving Violations which the Fall Guy took this chase sequence from. Ive found more complete videos from these chase scenes posted on youtube. Try searching for Moving Violations.
Sweet deal, I am surprised vistacruiser67 did not send this one to me, he knows all the cool clips about oldsmobiles! he is the man when it comes to clips about the 442 ( anything cutlass!)
Hey!I thought only Pintos did that exploding on impact thing! It's a good thing there was that big pile of hay bales in the way,for no apparent reason,or he might've racked up that Matador sooner.
The chase footage was reused from a Roger Corman-produced action film called "Moving Violations," and it was actually a pretty good chase scene without large chunks cut out and the footage sped to a ridiculous degree, as it was here.
Correction to my previous post: It was actually called "Moving Violation," with no "s" on the end.
And as far as I can remember (it's been a while since I've seen it), they didn't wreck the Vista Cruiser...it was used only in this chase sequence, which ended the same way it does here.
I know several of the chase scenes from this film are post on the site: If you search "Moving Violation Car Chase," this entire chase (original version) might be viewable.
I would hope the driver of the AMC had his licience cancelled seeing this proves he cannot avoid acciedents and alawys speeds and wrecks others moterists cars
One thing I hated in the late 70s and through the 80s was seeing nice old cars getting wrecked on TV. Sometimes they would have nice Olds Buick and Chevys.. I didnt mind seeing Ford or AMCs wrecking!!!
The TV show CHiPS comes to mind when I think of alot of classic cars destroyed. I once compiled a list while watching daily reruns of the show of all the cars they wrecked. I had several notebook pages full. I still have the list somewhere.
yeah it makes me cringe seeing those classics treated like shit. that's why there can NEVER be another Dukes of Hazard movie EVER AGAIN! leave 'em alone hollywood! more fast and the furious's are needed so some newer cars can get totaled.
Well I think its a weak car chase but I couldnt resist uploading it for the sake of the Vista Cruiser and the obscurity of the footage. It didnt even fit with the plot of the TV show. Most of the Vista Cruiser footage is sped up so you really cant get a good look at it.

Two cool cars. A 1969 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and a 1972 AMC Matador sedan. Sweet!

Niiiice! And I don't normally like car chase sequences. That old AMC Matador brings back memories, too.

At least the Vista Cruiser was relatively unscathed!
OldsVistaCruiser 4 years ago
Yeah I noticed that. The Vista lived to do battle another day. Its highly unlikely the car is still with us though. I hope it is.
vistacruiser67 4 years ago
Actually, I think that Vista is still with us.
If it's the one I think it is, it's currently owned by Wilmer Valderrama.
