  • Lol the first game is a rip off of Stellar Conflicts (Flash MMO), as well as Star Sonata. However, Lotus got such a bad review here I don't think it could compare with either game anyway.

  • Concept of lotus most likely taken from:

    stellar conflicts @ gecko-games[dot]com

  • whats up people..carlos here from mevio

psyched about the new episode - uploading today..so def look for it later.

and thanks for all the kind comments comin my way -- i dig doing the show with nick and we have started doing some of em over here at mevio. so that = rad.

  • I am going to release an update for Nebulon (tonight) with the following changes:

    Control Scheme changed to dual-stick

    Grid brightness increased

    More on-screen/audio feedback

More help-screens detaling the mechanics of play

    Performance issues addressed

This will need to go through peer review again, but that shouldn't take too long.

  • wow... i never thought this would happen! developers never listen to feedback! can't wait to try it out!

  • *Some* developers do :-)

    Us, for example.

Our ethos is to write fun, good-quality games. that the community want to play, so if people want a dual-stick option for Nebulon, they can have it.

  • That's amazing. I almost gave up on reviwing community games because so few developers are willing to listen (not just to me, but to an overwhelming majority of negative feedback). It ended up being a waste of time unless the feedback was on bugs and crashes. So... Congratulations on being one of the few that listen. I'll be checking out your game after the update.

  • This is great news! I have to say that I lost interest immediately upon finding out the control scheme was difficult, and I couldn't do what I wanted to do. I know control schemes in games are made to be different and unique, but it flies in the face of what I believe make good games great: giving power to the player.

I think it's great that you're updating the game. I'll definitely check it out again and likely buy it.

Question: Did Nebulon go through the Play Test in the community?

  • Yes, and while it was there we blogged and twittered and facebooked that it was in play test to try and get feed back.

We had a fair bit, but nothing on the controls.

As Dave says, we aim to please though :)

  • Yes, twice.

  • With this video and this planned update of yours, you just sold yourself another copy. Congrats. It's an amazing game.

  • Thanks.

Just you wait for Nebulon II ...

  • Would be awesome if one day this show was showed on Xbox, Like Red Vs Blue and The Guild

  • Yet another awesome XNA Roundup! How come it wasn't in HD D:

    Love it!

  • Lotus Stellar Conflict looked pretty too will have to give it a go and see how it plays.

Wonder if they can roll it over to a tactical game rather than a shooter..?

  • Nebulon at only 200 points is quite a deal actually... I forget about how cheap 200 points actually is when I "review" games. I just bought two car packs on Test Drive Unlimited for 700 points, 350 each, for example...

  • I am still confused about the "stop 'n' pop" comment but I'll try Lotus for myself.

  • i bet the pilots of Lotus Steelar Conflict are sayin is "god damn the missiles failed wat a minute its comin back god damn it failed again"

    LOL

  • OMFG LOL! Funniest comment ever.

    Thanks for watching!

    Nick

  • Nebulon looks cool, I'll have to give it a try.

Even though I love Geometry wars I get really bored of the community clones.

But Nebulon looks like its changed enough things to keep it fresh.

Great show. "Friggin' Dilithium Crystals" lol

  • Thanks!

I think you'll like it, at least give the demo a shot!

    Nick

  • I'm already working on the fix for a patch next week.

    Daphyd

  • Nice! Let me know and I'll annotate the video when you do.

    Thanks!

  • hahaha "damn trioids"

    great show man really great

And for nebulon I imagine they could easily fixed the slowdown in an update, I can already see the code for the warm enemy causing major garbage due to a small desgin flaw.

  • Haha, thanks for watching!

    Nick
