I read all ten books. Unfortunately, Tara and Sam are not a pairing in the books and barely have any interaction at all. Also, Tara is a white business owner in the books.

Yeah, I felt for Hoyt too. He is too sweet and he needs a sweet girl. I heard that Sam's storyline is going to be pretty juicy. So what about this. Maryanne forces Sam to mess around with her. Daphne turns to Hoyt. Tara kills Maryanne. Tam is back together. (But I would drag this out for a few seasons because, I want Tara and Eggs to be an item for a while.)

Well, on the same token, if the Sam and Tara (in the books) are duller and less defined than the characters depicted on the show, then I personally couldn't find any reason to read the entire book series.

I haven't been able to catch the show yet so when i came on youtube and that vids were posted here i thought why not? I'm glad i didn't sit down for an hour and watch this. I'd rather just continue reading the books. Its an okay show but, i guess i'm just to enamored with the way i imagined up the characters in my own head. (sam and tara come on!!!)

justtojoke - I can understand how the whole Sam/Tara thing could be a shock to people who have read the books before watching the show I've read the books too and I know there's no Sam/Tara in them at all however I prefer it when tv shows don't follow the books exactly as long as they don't take it too far.

I was expecting him to complain about her habit of leaving him suddenly everytime they have sex. Then maybe she would explain herself and realize that he likes her company as well. But noooo he had to be such a tool!

I think that would've been a lovely development to their relationship especially after Tara admitted that she wasn't good at the whole relationship thing in episode 7, but the writers had to go and wreck it just so they can push Sam/Sookie at us later on not that I have anythng against that pairing Sam/Tara just seems more interesting.

I strongly believe they are going to push this Bill/Sookie thing to the death. Never read the book, have no clue how the story goes in them. But from what I see in the show they make Bill and Sookie out to be the epic love story. I'm all about Tara and Sam tho so that suits me

Fat Jan - I think that Sam made that comment deliberately after all he must have known how Tara was going to react. As he still has a thing for Sookie he didn't want to mislead Tara into thinking their relationship could be something more than it is so he said something insensitive that would make Tara leave. I really wish Tara would have pointed out that Sam barks in his sleep, it would have been interesting to see how Sam would've reacted to it.

In the beginning, I was rooting for them to have a real relationship, but, after that episode, I am just plain disappointed in Sam.

FatJan - Whether Sam and Tara remain boink buddies probably depends on whether they forgive each other (I reckon Sam should apologise too). You're right I think he probably would've tried to play down the barking in his sleep too, after all if he over-reacted it would have looked suspicious and he can't play the 'it wasn't me' card the way he did with Terry!

I have a feeling Sam's going to start pulling back from the relationship unless Tara stops freaking out at him everytime they have sex. He seemed a little fed up at the end of this even though he brought it on himself!

You're right about Sam's feelings for Sookie being stronger than any feelings he would have for Tara. Hmmmm......you never know maybe if she were to be a little nicer and start showing interest in someone else Sam would look at her a differently. I hope they don't make her too nice, Tara is hiliarious when she's pissed.

Yeah, I had the same thought too. Did Sam make the first move because Hoyt had complimented Tara and so becoming jealous of Hoyt? Or was he being possessive of Tara? Or was he just wanting to get Sookie and Bill out of his head after learning that Bill was not a victim of the fire? Maybe all the above. LOL!
