if you have a fast turn signal problem try swapping the relay for another one(only if you have an extra one somewhere around the house) if you don't have an extra fuse or the new fuse doesn't work, swap all your turn signal light bulbs"ALL FOUR"(from the bad side to the good side) chances are this will do it"i recommend you first swap your light bulbs the mess with the relay" THIS WORKED FOR ME IT CAN WORK FOR YOU : )
Had this exact problem today...went to Jeep dealer who told me I might have all kinds of problems with wiring. I asked for a new bulb and situation is corrected now...however this happened 8 months ago and a new bulb was installed at that time also. Try a new bulb before letting the dealer touch your car. Funny thing is the the old bulb that was taken out looked good but there was a burnt spot on the glass of the bulb. Any ideas from anyone?
@sandrochatlos1 hmmm, maybe refill the blinker fluid ;) lol jkkk, um its most likely the bulb. There are different resistances and if the bulb doesn't fit the factory specs it could cause this problem. What year is the car, how do you know they're blinking slowly, and are there any modifications to the turn signals? Could help me a little more...
1988 Dodge Dakota, everything is factory...The hazards blink slower than the turn signals...It's not annyoing to me, but I like when turn signals are slow...lol...
@sandrochatlos1 It has nothing to do with the bulb. The turn signal flashers get worn out. When you replace the turn signal flasher, the bulbs will flash faster. There are two flashers, one for the 4 ways and one for the R and L. Dont worry about the 4 way flasher as they are rarely used anyway.
@sandrochatlos1 Rust, my friend :) In my case slow blinking was caused by wire problem. Ground connector of rear lamp was eaten by rust causing no connection to body. Current found the way through other lamps adding resistance. Try cleaning with sandpaper both connectors and body screw.
pretty good vid execpt you are wrong on one thing. You say if ur hazards work ur relay is fine. Thats were your wrong my hazard lights worked and i still had to replace my turn signal relay and everything is good now.
@JeyGantDTA it sounds like a bad housing to me. It'll cost some money, but not as expensive to diagnosis and fix a wiring problem. I hope you figure it out, whether its the actual whole taillight or something else. Good luck!
@JeyGantDTA so is everything out on the rear drivers side? if that is so, it sounds like a wiring problem. You should still give the bulbs a chance though...afterall, they'll cost you about $5 bucks at most!
@drippinblood28 if your hazards work, then there is no wiring problem inside the wheel that has to do with the actual turn signal. It means there could be some wiring problem near the wheelwell around the actual light.
@JeyGantDTA You mean the brake lights turn on when you turn on the headlights??? that is definitely freaky. i mean they are supposed to be on when you have the headlights on, but then when you press the brake they get brighter, but you probably already know that. It could be the headlights housing. When I was researching my problem on google, i remember some cases like these. People said, that changing out the whole taillight fixed the problem because the housing inside of it was bad!

What causes an older cars turn signals to flash at a slower rate, nothing is wrong with the bulbs, wiring, relays..etc..?

@bigbuckj86 thanks man, that's what google told me. I guess it's not always so reliable all the time

I have a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire. The brake light and the blinker light is the same light.
The blinker and brake lights on the passenger side work fine.
Maybe Jiffy Lube gave me a bad bulb. It worked for a week or so, before it started blinking fast again.

@drippinblood28 This is actually the most information I've gotten about this issue.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH

@JeyGantDTA yeah no problem, good luck!!!

You really helped me out!! LOL.
I went to Jiffy Lube, and they told me it might be a wiring problem, and I was like FML.
But my Hazard light works.
The only thing is the brake light and blinker is out on the rear drivers side.
I hope I can just get a new bulb, and I'll be ok.
Thanks again!!

The only thing not working on the drivers side is the blinker. Its the exact same thing as in your video.
When I turn on the hazards, same as in the video.

@JeyGantDTA Oh, i thought you said that the brake light was out too
drippinblood28 9 months ago
@drippinblood28 I'm sorry, when I got a new bulb, everything worked except the blinker. That was 2 weeks ago or so.
Tonight, I had a friend check my brake light on the drivers side, and it was out.
But if I turn on my headlights, the back lights light up?
I don't get the issue.
