How come there is only footage of his face, and him playing? What a narcissist. Where are the other musicians? I guess he's playing to a recording, or over a recording. This production makes it seem like he wrote this song himself. He also looks like Jeff Daniels. "Hey Dumber, where is Dumb at?"
When I first heard this interpretation I could only think about one thing: music does bring people together. The orchestra follows him into greatness. Outstanding and mind breaking
I first saw a fragment of this video years ago in the documentary The Art of the Violin, and fell completely and utterly in love with it! Thanks to Arta for uploading the complete version!
Emotions... il y a bien des années que je n'avais écouté... Avec Menuhin... ils ont bercé mon adolescence! (Au temps du yé-yé.... A chacun son plaisir!)
perhaps a measure of greatness is being able to identify an artist by hearing but a few notes. If this is true, then Gitlis has an abundancy of greatness.
How I adore this man's playing.

Amazing technique, but all in the service of expression and emotion. Wow.

He does one helluva parody of Heifetz. How come I have never seen this clown do musical "shtick" like Jack Benny back in the day?
