If you love these clips of America and you do not have the dvd of this get it. I just received mine from Amazon and it is amazing. I cannot begin to tell you how great it is to watch the whole thing on your tv. I recently rediscovered America and I just love them!
I love the way they change the mood at 2.25 and begin to jam. Homecoming was a great album but they all were up to and including Hearts.I saw them live in 1975 with Poco supporting.
@ambersalcove: I'm no musician but I'm pretty sure he's playing an Ovation guitar, famous for having a distinct sound due to their rounded back (watch closely from 0:05-0:18) made from a molded composite material. I remember when they first came out in the mid-late '60s and the story was that the material was the same as that helicopter rotors were made from.
Not exactly, but close. Check out the helicopter connection at "ovationguitars" and read the interesting history at "Why Ovation."
@ariaangelchild i have yet to find just the audio files to these tunes i dont think they exist. i would love to listen to this session in the car but o well
the vocal part at 3:46 is interesting. ;) sounds like ad lib. i remember as a kid, listening to the album and it's actually backwards. i used to put the turntable out of gear and spin the record backwards. to me, back then, it sounded like they were singing 'Please! Come to the aid of our country.' anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Wow it's amazing how young Gerry Beckley Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek looked in this clip from their 1975 jam session concert America Live

This track, along with the classic Ventura Highway is available on their Homecoming CD. Its probably their best.

Great video! Looks like they are in their garage or basement where a great great deal of music is founded!

@rickfan1964 You're right! When you play the ending backward they sing "All good men come to the aid of their country."
