This flick is the definition of a smart movie, lots of depth and possible interpretations, not enjoyable by everyone. It's one of my favorites.

You'll only get majorities of people liking something if it's easy and well-packaged. I think the fact that most people aren't attracted to this move is an indicator that even the ideas in the movie go over people's heads. That's scary to me. People don't realize the connection between the worlds problems and their own general resistance to these themes. When those people complain about the world, I laugh silently and remember how the indifference of good men is the cause of evil.

This movie has become one of my favourites. My wife thinks i'm crazy. I sat her down and showed her Southland Tales and she was openly hostile towards me afterwards for wasting her time. I just don't get it. This movie is incredible!
