I´ve heard this crary stozy before but I´m almost sure it was originally read and also written by the toters bonkally Englian comedish, the one and only, Stanley Unwin!
I wasn't sure if he was doing this on purpose or not, until he said, "So the next day the prince went from house to house. And you can't turn that around..."
He left out the part about. "So, if you want to got to a bancy fall and marry a pransom hince, don't forget to slop you dripper." That was the real storal to this mory.
I was hoping someone else had loved this enough to share it. I have the 45, but no longer a way to play it. I had the beginning of it memorized and my 8th graders really dug it. Now, I can share the rest with them. Thanks a bunch for the post.
Dude! I had this whole thing memorized back when I was 10, and I would recited it to entertain my family. I haven't heard this in at LEAST 25 years. Thank you so much for posting this!
I used to hear this on WKBW in Buffalo during the Joey Reynolds Show circa 1962. I bought it, still have it and memorized it although I fudge some of it. I think the flip side is Margarita.

I remember my dad bringing this (45) record home in 1962 and laughing hysterical and what is just as funny is the laughter in the back ground.

@brittonstreet I have every song in the top "40's" from 1962... this "song" is the worst on there by far! I wish it had been forgotten forever.
