  • @ASSEMblerEX Why doesn't the music come on for me?

  • HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE ON A 32 BIT SYSTEM???

  • game overs are creepy in this game o-o

  • I say sega should start realesing technilogically insuperior games like this and on! just to show everyone that you dont need the best graphics and crap

  • Attention everyone this is just the Engine(The Nights Version of it actually) with a test level demo! You can watch actual levels in the realted vids and you can tell it was a decent game to be realeased in 1996! Thank You!

  • Comment removed

  • u can find the beta demo on EmuParadise

  • For those who say that it's good that this wasn't released should remember this this is pre-beta and the graphics look pretty good for the Saturn just add enemies, fix the bugs, and some environments and this could have been very good

  • Woah. This is just plain suck-ass.

  • @Fosterkm

good thing they never released this game!

  • @Fosterkm You sir are a friggin moron this is just a test level kinda thing! Look at the real thing watch?v=6IOd0mQ-uXE you cant tell me it wouldnt of been a decent game if it got released in 1996 Geez -__-'!

  • Call me an idiot, but what is a "gully"?

  • so are you telling us that you spent $3000 for this shiat??????

  • wonder why this why never released, it looks fun to me.

  • Hate to rain on teh parade, but the music is from the JP version of Sonic CD. Do some research.

  • this game would of been good

  • Sonic just isn't made for 3D gaming. At least the original concept from the Sega days. That's why they keep changing the style every game because they can't find one to stick.

  • @KrazieCastaway Its cuz Sega sucks nowadays and what do you mean SA1 was solid 3D Sonic Game! If it was Nintendo they could do an Amazing 3D Sonic easily!

  • @bardhi09 BS

  • @MY5TCrimson Oh piss off will you this game could of been good. And Nintendo would make a great Sonic Game cuz Miyamoto is a genius nuff said.

  • @bardhi09 Yes, this game could have been brilliant - if it was released. SEGA could have done a brilliant job with this, but there were too many constraints in development that hindered everything and held it back to the point of cancellation. This game had so much potential, especially when you've actually looked at the files and seen what could have been (check out Chris Senns website)

Forget Miyamoto, he makes his own games, they're called Mario. Leave Sonic to his own creators.

  • @MY5TCrimson 1.Yes i know

2.Which would be Yuji Naka,Naoto Oshima and Hirokazu Yasuhara. All of these guys dont work for Sega anymore. And im still quite sure Miyamoto would do a good Sonic Game if ever given a chance.

  • bring back the old good sonic style, old good sonic voice actors, and the old good gameplay and i will buy 4 copies.

  • I think this engine looks better then the fishy eye engine that they went with, if they used this instead, then it might have been released.

  • Man, I love the music here.

  • Meh, looks OK for a game back then.

  • wow srb2 almost matched this model of sonic perfectly...

  • @the1emulator2guy

Yeah, now if they could only finish the thing.

  • Pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-rpe-rpe-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-prototype of SA

  • Music taken from the 1993 release Sonic CD for the Mega CD...I thought it was an original compostion for this game only...looks like I was wrong!..

  • Well, it's pretty common for hit game franchises to recycle music, plus they were in enormous debt at the time, so I doubt they would want to pay the money for another musical score. But MAN! I never realized that before! Good ear!

  • this is in regards to cyber salad. In actuality saturn did make at least one good sonic game, sonic 3d blast was wayy ahead of it's time..come on the game made anything playstation was pumping out look like shit(crash bandicoot..etc) not to mention the gameplay was actually pretty decent. and it was also a plus that they brought back the bonus stages from sonic 2 just slightly modified. come on now be fair when sega makes a good game it's amazing when it's bad it's def as bad as it can get.

  • @thejeffvolta: Sega isn't a person. It's a company with dependancies around the globe. Most of the classic Sega games were made in Japan (Alex Kidd, Phantasy Star, Caslte of Illusion, Sonic, Shining Force, Streets of Rage, Shinobi, etc. pp.) but from 1992 on there were a lot of games from Europe and the US too (Ecco the Dolphin, Sonic Spinball, Kid Chameleon, but mostly movie licenses, etc.). Sonic 3D Blast was developed in UK by Traveller's Tales, Sonic X-treme in the US by SOA.

  • yeah except crash bandicoot is much better than sonic 3d blast...

  • 3d blast was made by a european sega based company under a contract. Same with Sonic R, Sonic JAM, etc.

  • Seriously Sega, just make a 2D HD Sonic with our current graphical power, and include some 3D elements. It would sell like mad, and it would be fun as hell. I'm sick of watching Sonic stuck in the toilet because you are lazy. If anything, sell the rights to Nintendo. Look at the Mario games they make, they are still incredible. Imagine what they could do for Sonic. Sega is just wasting Sonic.

  • I think they just need the original 2D sonic developers to make something up.

It's pretty evident no one else can develop good Sonic games, proven with Sonic GBA.

  • Your wish is my command.

    /jk

but seriously, it came true. Search for project needlemouse.

  • @denveraic Project Needlemouse is just that, but with high-definition pre-rendered sprites. Oh, and Square Enix needs to sell the Super Mario RPG characters to Nintendo, if your not going to use them, quit hogging them! Give them to someone who will use them. Oh, and Sonic's not in a toilet, he's got his head stuck in a toilet paper tube.. (hedgehogs do that for some reason, they ALWAYS, try to stick their heads in them)

  • @denveraic they are making a game its called sonic 4 and its for the xbox 360

  • @denveraic They're doing it, buddy! They're doing it!

  • @ApolloKun777

    Yep. Sonic 4 says hi.

  • @denveraic Haha, and it indeed happened B)

  • @denveraic

Hey, there's this game called Sonic the hedgehog 4 episode I. Ever heard of it?

  • @mariodude8989211 Hey, there is this thing called reading comprehension. And if you could in fact comprehend what you have read you would understand the quote you read was from well over a year ago. Have a nice day genius.

  • @mariodude8989211

Yeah.. What do you think about that game? Nothing special right?

Thumbs up if you want a next-gen x-treme or at least.. the original x-treme!

  • @Shr00b

I wasn't talking to you. God, I hate it when people I'm not even talking to answer my questions. But anyway, since you ask, I think it's a good game. I don't exactly think it really deserves the "4" attatched to it, even if it's fun. I kind of think of it as a spin-off because of rehash enviroments and bosses. Right now I'm at E.G.G. station.

  • @mariodude8989211

O__o Sorry for commenting something you said.. Didn't expect to bother you.. jeez..

We both think the same way btw..

  • @denveraic Thus we have Sonic 4. :)

  • @denveraic Fuck Mario, Fuck Nintendo and Fuck Shigeru Miyamoto. Yu Suzuki shits all over him, Sega was a far better console, Nintendo was just good at getting away with enforcing illegal contracts on third party developers.

  • @ValiantVendetta "Sega was a far better console"

Sorry, what console are you referring to? As i'm pretty damn sure SEGA released more than one games console.

  • @4methyst Maybe I should've used the word "platform."

  • @ValiantVendetta yeah if sega had better consoles than nintendo how come they stoped during the dreamcast era and now make games for nintendo. fanboy

  • @jjnnerazor Timing is key, Nintendo as a company has always been great at timing. Sega seemed to always fuck up it's timing, the early cancellation of the Saturn, the fuck up with the release of titles for 32X and Sega CD... Launching an online console before broadband had penetrated, launching a console with a CD drive just before the DVD standard started to take off. Sega's engineers, software developers were the best, it's management were the shittiest group of failures to ever exist.

  • @denveraic ur wish had been granted

  • @denveraic Your demand has been made, Sonic Generations ;D

  • @denveraic And thus we got Sonic 4 a pathetic excuse for a Sequel to the Genesis Games! And if done right Sonic can be good in 3D Sonic X-Treme could of been a very good game shame it was canceled )=!

  • @denveraic Sonic anniversary ftw

  • @denveraic cough sonic generations cough

  • @edman2121 How long ago did I comment? You fuckin moron.

  • @denveraic You should check out Sonic generations.

  • Nice video man. I love that music.

  • WHY THIS GAME WILL NOT BE RELEASED?

  • @knastbube They don't call it a prototype for nothin pal. Most games play like crap until they've been worked on some. It's called fine tuning the gameplay mechanics.

And the graphics weren't that bad for the time.

Ofcourse this game got a lot better before it was canceled, This is an early prototype..

Just saying, This is youtube. we don't need anymore irrelevant commenting .

  • the engine was declared unworkable. I mean, even with years of experience, I'd find a way to chew my head off before I could work on the thing! It's as buggy as CRAP!!!!!!!!!! But they were going for a really good idea.

  • I think Adventure Battle 2 wasn't bad, but after that, the series was a slow decline T__T

  • @YoungSquire94 well sonic colors kinda saved sonic from dying and im pretty sure generations will help sonic a lot

  • Hey, I really like the music. Lucky whoever bagged it. :P Too bad they couldn't use the Nights engine; I always thought the feel in the groundbound moments in Nights would have been right for a Sonic game...

    Thanks for posting!

  • It's hard to tell, was Sega more screwed in the '90s than today or vice versa? The lack of a real sonic game for the Saturn was just an embarrassment. At least today we've got a few good releases like Valkyria. But anything coming out of SoA's publishing is usually atrocious. SoJ can still pull off occasional greatness.

  • haha, sonic definitely wasn't made for 3D.

  • that's why the series went downhill once it became 3D

  • The canceling of this game was the first sign and SoA didn't realise that. Idiots. At least PARTS of the new sonic games are OK.

  • now now, there's no need for namecalling, buddy
