It's a Philips webcam...but I don't endorse it. I'm going to be using my new Panasonic digital camera to record videos from now on because it shoots in HD (omg!).

The audio is recorded directly on my cpu instead of the webcam. I have my sound program recording anything going out of the speakers, so after my guitar amp is linked to my CPU, I just hit play on the mp3 and rock like a hurricane.

I started playing at 14 and have been playing for 10 yrs...so I was able to learn the song is less than 1/2 hour. Taking lessons and practicing often will get you to be better than me in half the time. The note things are called tablature (or tabs). I usually go to ultimate-guitar[dot]com for mine. If you google "How to read guitar tablature" you should be able to find a guide to get you started. Best of Luck!

Thats where everybody screws themselfs is by learning songs first man. You waste your time trying to memorise these songs when you could memorize very common scales and chords and then learn songs in half the time. I also go to ultimate-guitar(.)com though. It seems to have about the best selection and most of the tabs are pretty accurate. They have chord finders and scales on there too. I suggest you learn those first...And DONT effin learn stairway to heaven...You'll curse yourself!

The distortion is just from my amp...it's an MG series Marshall. A lot of people hate on the MG's, but I like them a lot.

I'm not really good at gear advice, so maybe another YouTuber can chime in here, but here's my thoughts: To my knowledge, strings are only going to effect how bright or dull your guitar sounds. I would change them if you haven't for a long time though. I haven't used the amp your talking about, but I'm sure if you check the owner's manual or do a google search for other people's settings, you'll find a good distortion setting. Otherwise the Boss DS-1 distortion pedal is good and cheap! Cheers!

Thanks man. I saw this song performed two years ago by a cover band who just stood there like statues. Very disappointing... This song really isn't that hard to play (even though I do screw up a little going into the solo), so you should have fun while playing it, and who cares if you look silly at the same time.
