  • good luck this is ver sad he's nice but looks old may god watch over him it seems he brought you much joy all the best yugi304~!@

  • Iam sorry to say this but if the dog is that old there isnt really anything more to do than putting him to sleep.

The thing about dogs is that they tend to get cancer at old age.

My stepfather is one of europes best dog trainers/rehabilitator.

Cancer spreads fast in dogs, our last dog had cancer.

We removed it but just months after the cancer came again.

The drugs and all makes the dog mentaly worse, the dog can get really depressed.

Please trust me on this one, i know its hard to do it.

  • Sharpie, no matter how many times I try to post a reply here, it always gets rejected, saying that it has a URL or email address in it. Which is not true. Please see your inbox for a message I sent you there.

  • He was fine 6 months ago. Different from my last one, he went away slowly, getting sicker and sicker from everywhere over many years. This is sudden, thought he would be good for a few more years.

  • I will have to kick myself in the ass and do the right thing to end his suffering even though I do not agree with the principle of putting my best friend to ' sleep ' versus what he's brought me in return over the years. I'm saying I could pick up a lot of ' accidents ', that kind of stuff I don't care, but to see him struggling to walk kills me.

  • I went to see another vet and a fourth one ( surgeon ) has looked at the vid and xray to confirm it was a cancer this is in french " plusieurs paramètres indiquent que la cause du problème implique une tumeur osseuse maligne localisée à la métaphyse proximale de l'Humérus " and that there is no treatment. It could also have spread to other parts.

  • did u finally put it 2 sleep?

  • Thanks for the feedback hanabolus.

Yes I have considered amputation but we are talking about a Rottweiler which is between 11 and 13. If he was 7-9 I would think about it more seriously but it's ridiculous to bring him through this for a couple of months more. His cardio isn't all that good, his back legs are going, they also think on top of the cancer he could have neurological problems.

  • Please message me. Have you considered amputation? The foreleg is getting in his way is a constant potentialf or pain. If the leg is removed, there's no fear of the pain and the burden of carrying the extra weight all over the place is lifted. Have a look at vids of my Ridgeback to see what movement might look like after amputation : type Nina and Ridgeback for her 4 vids.

Your guy is older, but it's possible that he could do well if he is otherwise healthy.
