i think you are misunderstanding her meaning of the word "dark". If she means what i believe she means, then she's talking more about the shape of the vowel.
I think you have a beautiful voice! Great rendition of this song. I love it. May I suggest a brighter "a" vowel, especially for "At the cry..." It's a bit dark.

I don't think that the "a" vowel should be brighter. This isn't exactly a bright and cheery song.
