Kinda stupid that CBS is firing AJ Cook for "budgetary reasons" yet in the same article, it says they're bringing in another female to fill her slot...make sense to anybody else? Because I sure don't get it.

And even if it is about budget, why take out Emily/Paget , who joined the show later. This characters are usually cheaper, which is why they bring in a new actress/character. What i don´t get is, why not one of the guys was written out of the show when it is about financial issues.

I really like the cast of Criminal Minds and would not want anyone of them leave, but cut out 2 of the 3 female main characters makes no sense at all.

@kumpel83 It is all about budget. Paget Brewster is a TV name and came off of a critical darling "Huff" to do this show so she costs more money than Gubler, Moore or Vagness. AJ Cook had the smallest TV Q so she was sent packing and Paget's shows are being reduced to save money. The new character is not a regular and therefore does not get paid anywhere near what even the least expensive regular is getting.
