Black people may want to question their method of discipline. Our notion of whippings came from SLAVEMASTERS! The irony is that we have been whipping our kids for decades.....but look at the state of the average black community. We really may want to consider a new method of discipline. Instilling fear does not equal respect.
That is absolutely true. But one of the main problems with the lack of discipline in the Black community is consistency and respect. If we can instill respect in these kids, then there would be a lot less need for discipline.
We will begin to instill respect in the kids BY EXAMPLE. Have you heard of the 0-age6 rule. Many families HAPHAZARDLY raise their kids early on and then wonder why at age 10 the kid is out of control. The kid is normally the reflection of what he or she experienced from age 0-6. That time period molds who we are.
