The explosion at the end was number 9's wife who was angry because he got home so late and possibly drunk which would explain his trouble finding his own house!
Upon seeing this, this does sound vaguely familiar (it's got to be 1970's, though!). Did Sesame Street have ten of these (one for each 'wandering' number from 1 to 10), or was this just done with a few numbers? Just wondering. Thanks in advance.
My son and I love this one! I always wondered what was going in the houses, 2 slams the door, 7's throwing a party, etc. I'm pretty certain there's another one like this, where the number (forget which) apologizes for waking up the guy inside: "Grumble grumble..." "sorry!"
This was animated on an ANALOG computer system called "SCANIMATE" do a google search, there were only 8 machines made and only 1 left now...The Electric company show used a LOT of scanimate stuff!
For the 100th time (and no doubt I'll write this 100 times more), I remember this one but never would have thought of it again if I hadn't seen it here.
#1 and #7: loud music playing
#2 and #6: door slammed
#4: "Sorry!"
#5: barking dog (used in both #3 and #9)
#8 and #10: burglar alarm

Funny stuff! #2 SLAMS the door, #5 had a big dog, #10 had a burglar alarm, #7's TOO DAMN LOUD! Classic comedy!

Yeah I remember this now! Um, it is most certainly NOT computer animation. I believe this came out not long after PONG.

There's at least one more like this involving either the number 3 or 5. It didn't have fireworks at the end.

It was #3, also had "grumblegrumble" "sorry"
