Every time I hear this song, I'm reminded of a little something that Miroku once said in the 3rd Inuysha movie:
"Well, I can sympathize. That's just how men think. It's quite natural that a boy's father is always at the forefront of his mind. It's hard to explain. You think you can at least do what your father can, and you hope that one day you'll surpass him. For boys, a father is their most influential role-model."
Nanaki, why he is awesome? he represents a feline-canine, both of the most popular pets in one(stop hating), hes proud, agily and swift as a cat, caring, strong, and loyal as a dog, hes got a flaming tail, and a blind eye, hes buffs always helps the party in all ways, strong and fast the one thats always on al partys(gamers will undestand what pt i meant), he cames from a family that gave everything(lives included and their son) for the ones they love without even being from the same species
Final Fantasy 7 brings out the emotion in you. I don't know what it is, but it feels like more than a game. You hear this song and you just get the goosebumps that you had when you first got to Seto. Squaresoft somehow contacted God when they came up with FF7, becuase no man can ever make another game of it's calibur.
Back when ffXI??? I think, came out, I remember thinking why and how the heck can they make ff7 so good only to fall and make a crap like this? The other installments leading to XI was ok and good and X was bearable. But still I continue to ask; why the heck they can't just reuse the ff7 battle mechanic, since it's still freakin great with a good mix of strategic placing (thinking) involved, and that's comparing all the modern games like skyrim, wow, dragon age, FFX + has to offer.
This Song Helps Me Think All The Time, to cope with loss, stress, and nostolgia...i miss those times having this game when i was 6, now im 18..time flys so quickly, but this music still stays in my heart forever
@VladamirXLifeless13 I feel the same I played the game when i was around 15 now i'm 25, yet this is still one of the only few songs that I still remember and still puts a tear or two in my eyes. I guess it's alot easier back then to associate a game's theme music to a sweet childhood memory, even if it's ment to be a sad/heroic? one.
This game... this game isn't just a game, it's feelings, it make you feel happy, sad... it make you cry! Isn't just a game, I played it all my life and I enjoyed it like If I was in the game... one char more... and this song remember me that isn't just a game, it's the only game that can make me feel.
This song it makes me remember my family....the ones who have moved on. This song some how opens that path for me. I don't expect many people to understand what the heck I am saying.
@Antiformed Well dude, when you hit 0 HP, your characters aren't really dead, just out cold. When you are dead, you are dead like you know....... poor Aeris.
Now, maybe Seto could have been brought back with a super soft from FF9. lol
I listen to this, remembering exactly how I felt at that point in the game. That was one amazing thing about the lack of voice acting in video games; the music carried the emotion. I also think, that despite how much I love it and would enjoy seeing better graphics, they /shouldn't/ remake it. No matter how much more beautiful, no matter the voice acting, no matter the quality of music, it just would never be able to have the same impact, as sad as that sounds.
@RukiXXIII It might sound weird, but you must play Crisis core, it got me more emotionaly than ff7. Its the same universe, the same character, yet with voice acting and good graphics and god this is fucking amazing..
@TarnDarkBlade72 ... until you see Genesis. I have no emotional interest in Genesis and his very presence is a massive retcon that ruins several pivotal moments, most notably Nomura trying to tell me Genesis caused Sephiroth to go mad. Um, no, I think I trust my childhood more than your new script, Nomura.
@Antiformed He didnt help, yet its not him that got Sephiroth mad, he already ask himself questions in the Nibelheim Reactor, and get the intence headache before Genesis come, Genesis just accelarated the process.
@TarnDarkBlade72 Genesis told him about JENOVA being the source of his power. That scene was such a greaty part of the original because it was so isolated. Adding Genesis upset me because he was tampering with a great moment in my childhood gaming history.
this is without a doubt the greatest part in gaming history. the lead up, the story bugenhaggen tells, the music. it really gets u. how red 13 was always so angry at his dad and he finally learns the truth. through seto's ultimate sacrifice cosmo canyon was saved. true hero. i love this part. makes me cry a bit everytime i play it
@sdick12 kinda reminds me of naruto shippuden, when sasuke finally kills itachi, his brother, who he though was evil, cuz itachi killed their clan...and then sasuke finds out the truth that itachi was a good guy and was forced to do it or else the village would kill them all, even sasuke, who itachi left to be the one to get revenge...just telling u in case u dont watch naruto :D
@gnarkill4life I think it's like in FFV when Spoiler: Galuf dies. His life has met it's "true end" and his soul is leaving peacefully, so the magical items like Phoenix Downs, or Softs, and whatnot don't have the effect they would if you were knocked out, not quite dead, or dead before your time. That's my theory anyway. Same for Aerith.
@jasonrenaud Seto, Nanaki's dad, who Nanaki thought was a coward who supposedly left the people of Cosmo Canyon for dead, died, in the Cave of Gi....Nanaki was named Red XIII by Simon Hojo, Shinra's scientist as a research specimen since Nanaki is the last of his kind. He then brings in Aeris, who was captured by the Turks, since she is the last of the Cetra, or Ancients, Hojo tries to cross breed Nanaki and Aeris to end both from going extinct
@jasonrenaud Bugenhaggen, who is proclaimed as Nanaki's grandfather, and who studies the lifestream and the Planet itself, takes you through the Cave of Gi to show Nanaki that his father, Seto, was not a coward, but a great warrior and hero who died to protect Cosmo Canyon, and Nanaki and his mother
this tune is played, I think, twice. The first time well, we all know when. The second time is when Bugenhagen dies. This theme is, therefore, made sadder by it's association with both those bittersweet moments. That is evidence of the greatness of FF7.
Every time I hear this song, I'm reminded of a little something that Miroku once said in the 3rd Inuysha movie:

Heh, "lunatic" would technically be used quite well here since lunatic does refer to the moon, in which a wolf howls to. Anyway, you're not insane.

Absolutely timeless. Please, SE, get a grip of yourselves and look back to your roots.
