Yeah, my poor neighbor. And the kicker, not mentioned in this video, is not only did they say they didn't have his address (in his letter addressed to him)
BUT, my neighbor can't read. So, they would have stopped his benefits and he never would have known why...
I have a problem with SSA. I worked three years to get my work credits and SSA sent me a status report that I had the 40 credits required. I applied and was denied because they now said I had 32 credits. I sent them a copy of the statement and my tax forms. That was three month ago and no answer from them yet. I have called several times and was treated so rudely.
You will never get anything done over the phone. You will have to waste an entire day and go down to your local social security adminstration.
My neighbor has worked ALL his life, and didn't retire until he was 65. He didn't deserve the treatment he got. Not to mention, he can not read, so his benefits would have STOPPED and he never would have found out why!!! Yes, not only did they send a letter to an address they claimed they didn't have, they sent a LETTER to an illiterate elderly man. :(
Yes, and if you read the comment AFTER this, you will be even more upset. He has in his file he is illiterate...Yet they sent him a letter. Making this even more scary!
LLLLOL!!!! Yes, that sure sounds like a government admin... Same thing here in Germany!!! By the way - I LOVE the beagle in the background relaxing on your bed ;-)))
Well, since Bobby can't communicate on the phone I had to drive him (an hour away) to the social security office, where we spent most of the day waiting in lines and when we finally GOT to the right person, we just showed them the letter, and THAT WE GOT IT because it had HIS ADDRESS ON IT!
He had to show them his ID, which also had his address on it, which was also matched the letter.
The matter was resolved in about five minutes. After spending all day at the social security administration.
see? The federal government is so F'd up they can't even see how completely and totally moronic that is. He needs to call David Letterman so he can put that on his show!
wow that suck then you lose health care and everything

heh heh heh.
Unfortunately "Bobby" is not able to communicate on the phone. Long story :)
BUT, social security is such a screwed up system anyway. I'm amazed anyone gets benefits.

LOL that's pretty amazing-- funny but not so funny! Sigh.

I'm thinking maybe they are really reaching the bottom of the barrel to not give out benefits. But, come on, that excuse was pretty lame.
Thanks for stopping by Steve :)

Maybe he should call them up and explain how he doesn't have their telephone number! :)
