  • Eh, I didn't care for the tone very much at all. It's really difficult to create a heavy metal guitar pedal that doesn't sound like fizz and buzzing bees.

  • @Wes919 put an overdrive or tube screemer in front of it, that'll give you that crunch

  • BRAVO!!!!!! AMAZING SOLOS AND RIFFS

  • Nice fat nasty tones

  • so cool

  • cool

  • Dis does da chugs and da fuzz if you turn the mid freq. Up

  • does this pedal help me make chugs

  • solo just sounds like a 8 bit video game, terrible tone though great played

  • What's the name of this song?

  • Angry bees yes but so brutal

  • wayy tooo low on the pedal. way too muddy. it needs to get tighter

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Wow he used the Dr Z Maz! Isn't that really a "blues" amp more than anything?

  • @Andragon90 I guess that since Dr. Zs have such great cleans that using a pedal in front of it sounds pretty awesome.

  • This guy fuckin shreds

  • Sounds pretty gross to my ears

  • @hillysats You sound pretty gross to my ears.

  • needs a bit hore high

  • Brutal song!

  • great tunes ..I want a 7 now !!

  • Nevermore rules \m/

  • I love that the top two comments have nothing to do with the pedal.

  • That is an UNFORGIVING riff at 0:57

  • where can i find a tab of that song ? *.*

  • JOB FOR A COWBOY!!! FUCK YEAH!

  • @mammallica what is the song?

  • the intro rules *__*

  • Sounds alot like jeff loomis

  • holy shit!!this song rules!!!!well...i don't know if this sound comes from the MXR pedal but the sound of the guitar is awesome!!(Does anyone know the title of this song:P:P)

  • The song and playing are great. However the tone of the guitar blows. No mids, sounds muddy as fuck on lower chords. Should have had more midrange in the demo.

  • Sweet!! Do you think this box would do well with my Bogner Alchemist 40w combo? It's all tube.

  • wtf is with that lead sound? is that the mxr or some post production shit ?

  • sound like Jeff Loomis X)

  • "Game over"...

  • The lead sounds very, "video gamey"

  • Finally a review where they dont plat\y 80's hair metal bullshit riffs. Thank GOD!

  • got this pedal...its awesome...and a great clip.

a word of advice...from my experience the pedal is so much better on a valve amp than a SS. Almost didnt buy the pedal when i tried it on a SS amp, then put it into my Peavey Royal 8, and this thing sounds sweet.

  • @szadgan everything sounds better on valve amps

  • @vampyrhart for u to know... this is an tatally analog pedal, with tubes and a true bypass

  • @redeemerx666 No tubes in there, thats for sure.

  • @deadheadsg 2 vacuum tubes actually, but through 7 pots, a noise gate and an eq boost lol

  • sounds like something dethklok would play

  • yaya for JFAC!!!!!

  • forget about the pedal this is just a sick fuckin song.

  • finally someone who actually knows how to play metal guitar demoing metal effect pedalsss

    THANK YOU

  • Damn... The rythmic sounds like hell ._.

  • job for a cowboy shirt!!! ftw!

  • That was an awesome song and everything but the pedal sounds thin. It sounds cold and it missed some chord definition. The settings were either set wrong or this pedal is thin sounding.

  • @darkinuyasha06 shit settings..mine sounds beefy as

  • this is a great pedal, the only problem i have, is that when you play thru a bad amp, it is very noticable. i used my board at a gig and i had to use there cab and head, and it wasnt so great, and wasnt so great, naturally means it sucked haha

  • @ZephyrKitsune totally agree, through my marshall it sounds fantastic, my mates little practice amp? not so much

  • for distortion im more of a boss person the metal zone is intense its great for an amp that has a terrible distortion

  • @severia123 ewie boss metal pedals sound thin and brittle

  • that guitar is pretty awsome

  • theres not enough definition between the individual notes

  • @ig0c0mmand0

it's metal, what do you expect

  • @Pianoblacks just because its metal doesnt mean you have to sacrifice tone

  • @ig0c0mmand0 I hope you understand note definition and tone are two different things.

  • @Pianoblacks what i meant by that is that if the tone was better then you could hear the individual notes better

  • i was trying out pedals in the shop yesterday and one of the guys who works there came up to me and said "turn that off. You need to play this pedal." i am very, very grateful now

  • @jacksonthrasher haha, thats awesome

  • nice chops

How about some more low end heavy on these metal pedal demos?

    I need more cow bell.

  • i am a "gigging" guitar player, will someone please let me know that if you were to turn up the amp and/or the pedal volume will you still get the same results asif you were to play it more quietly?

  • @crazypeoples24686 the quality is reduced as you turn the amp up louder but that doesnt make much difference unless you hit the halfway or so mark. To sort it out just get a more powerful amp instead of turning the volume up too loud

  • @crazypeoples24686 I like mine louder. It only gets better sounding at loud volumes.

  • what an uglty guitar

  • niice

  • what song is this

  • 7 string??

  • this or metal muff with top boost......

  • totally this

i have the metall muff and it sucked actully it almost exploded

  • Is this guy Jeff Loomis? o.O

  • Jeff Loomis uses Schecter Guitars and ENGL Amplifiers. The person in this video is using an Agile Guitar and appears to be using Fender Amplifiers to demonstrate the Fullbore Distortion.

  • I would think of the Ibanez tube king more of an overdrive than an distortion.

  • no way. you're thinking of a tube screamer. tube king is a tube preamp/distortion pedal

  • @DDzSlaytanic they are different tones, this wins for metal, the tube king is more like rock because it does not have enough gain

  • @DDzSlaytanic an Ibanez Tube King is meant for an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT sounding kinda distortion. That's the reason why BOTH my father & I own an Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer, & other distortion pedals too...my dad's got a TS-9 that's modified so it sounds like a 808. plus A TS-808 he modified w/ a Blue LED & to make it sound like a vintage TS-808, He's got a Maxon OD808 (like a lawsuit worthy TS-808 clone) he's also got a BOSS BD2 Blues Driver, a Korg DST1 that he Modified...

  • My dad can beat up your dad

  • dude im getn that pedal today

  • How can you tell how thick it is? I think you mean WIDE.

  • thats a thick neck man

  • @ThexMetalxWithin lol cuz it's a 7 string :)

  • i know it is but i used to have a razorback 7 string the neck wasnt that fat

  • @ThexMetalxWithin agile makes really fat necks well i mean wide not fat

  • what tuning is he using

  • is this just improvisation or is it a song cuz this thing fucking rules. if i would play my songs with this tone in my highschool every metal night i would destroy the equipment \m/\m/\m/

  • @tibi1687

    METAL NIGHT?

    OMGOMGOMGOMG

  • Are you using a noise gate? and if so is it the one on the pedal or a seperate one?

  • the mxr fullbore metal got one ;)

  • @tista93 does it actually sound this great or is this sound test just played through amazing gear

  • its both. in this vid he is using the scoop option in the stompbox but his sound doesnt com only from the eq that the stomp has. he is using it in a fender head pluged into a marshall 4x12. the head used on the clean chanel and also using the eq on the head.

  • Iam using emg pickups (81&85) through a "cheap" line 6 spider 3 30 and it sounds amazing.

it got lots of punch. You can get a nice and powerfull metalsound very easy.

In my opinion one of the best metal overdrive pedals ;)

  • okay thanks ive got this amp its a laney mxd120 watt combo its loud but the amps distortion has noo sustain will tihs add sustain bya lot and its not the guitar

  • I agree man. i got mine between a Xiphos XPT700 with EMGs and a Marshall 15w and you can almost feel the lows rippin your face off when you chug it

  • what kinda guitar is that is it a 7 string or 8? also is this an actual song cuz it rules!!!

  • Full bore is the right word. I can get some of those sounds with just bad playing!!!

  • Whatever ASS4EARS !

  • Hey guys can u put some of ur own personal settings for this pedal.

*-**and tone factor wat settings did u use for lead and rhythm**-*?

  • .........AGILE.............

  • Dr Z Maz 18! just like gmd.

  • i got that JFAC shirt lol but i barely ever wear it.

  • agiles are the fucking bomb

  • Got my agile, what about you?

  • judging from the way this thing sounds its exactly what im lookin for. seems great for the staccato type riffs.

    must order it soon.

  • Comment removed

  • well thats me sold.

  • You can tell your playing style is influenced by JFAC, I love JFAC! Awesome playing, 5*, im getting this pedal in a month, cant wait!!!

  • @ ehceubnodnarb I like how his T-shirt is influenced by JFAC, too.

  • where can you get an agile like that?

  • Nice agile.

  • So your actually going into a tone lab? You are using the full bore pedal correct?

  • Really want to hear this for my self. I am on the quest for the perfect metal tone. Have been for the last 16 years. Currently I run a line 6 Uber metal pedal through an old laney tf700 fusion amp. The amp has so much bottom end for some reason, Otherwise I would love the tone, I run the line 6 woth the bass at zero and still there is no cut. Maybe this will have the high end I need and all the other good mids I get from the line 6.

  • i have the greatest metal tone, in my opinion, i use a mccarty prs guitar into my vox tonelab on the metal pedal setting out of the marshall amp model and the vox cabinet, also a little reverb, my treble is at about 2 o'clock, the bass is at around 3 o'clock, and the mids are at 9 o'clock, into my acoustic all tube amp head on the clean channell with the eq's on the amp the exact same as the pedal, and i use wats technically a crate 4x12 but i installed vintage 30's, greatest metal tone ever

  • i like how none of those companys specialize in metal. i personal like amps tone and distortion, id go for ENGL or Madison. buts thats me.

  • i agree with u but if u go deep into the tweaking process then almost anything can be a descent metal distortion, most people think that a serious tweak is messing with ur 3 main eq's, and thats just the very beggining, my settings are perfect cuz i have almost all the mids cut from everything, i have 6 stages of gain, it cuts perfectly through everything, it's very articulate, and to top it all off, i have perfect controlled feedback that sounds like a marshall's feedback

  • @house1918tyler you sound like a faggot

  • i agree.

  • well that might sound good to you but i feel that you need mids cuz they give you more attack where you can actully hear the pick going agains the strings. This depends on what gear your using but i think when you cut all the mids and just relly on the low and high you just get a really woffy distortion with no real defenition to it, its just distortion, but then again that sorta depends on what your using

  • awesome!! That's my dream pedal!

As soon as i sell my mt-2 im getting this one!

  • damn that is one sick song brutal and the pedal must have

  • oh my heavy tone in that small thing much better than the mt2 from boss

  • BRÖÖTALZ!!!

  • I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS PEDAL!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR IT!!! IT'S SICK!!! By the time i'm writing this, i'm a little sick too :p

  • 7 strings or 8 strings ?

  • 7 strings

  • Wow, agiles are getting pretty popular.

  • we can't let 'em get too popular, they're still affordable

  • ill fell in love with them after readin yur comment

  • @Mindlegion i know, and theyve already gone up like 40 bucks!!

  • what a kick ass demo love it !!! keep up the fantastic vids.

  • what is that guitar? Sounds awesome TOne factor

  • It's an Agile.

  • sound pretty good , too mid scooped for my taste but still sound organic , nice 5 stars

  • this proves that there are actually good metal pedals

  • finally

  • These vids keep getting better and better....
