I always thought it was a shame that Esmeralda wasn't technically a Disney 'princess' because she's a lot more beautiful than a lot of the princesses.

@angelofmusic741 True, but there's a reason for that I believe. Esmerelda was supposed to represent a very alluring, tempting and exotic beauty, whereas most other girls in the Disney series are meant to be a more innocent beauty (with the exception of Jasmine).

@angelofmusic741 Besides appearances, Esmeralda was also very capable,strong, and was not a stereotypical lady. I know not all the Disney princesses were like that but you get my point. Although Belle was also a good character.
