  • Just to be clear. This is a 2007-08 limited edition Boxster RS60 although Badge on the trunk says"Boxster S".The door sills and number plate inside the car distinguish it with the "RS60". 3.4 liter engine and makes 303 hp. Its also part of the 987.1 model series.

In 2009-2010 Porsche came out with 987.2 model series with 3.4 liter 310 hp Boxster S. The official "Spyder" badge is only for special lightweight boxsters with 320 hp, special rear trunk lid, and manual canopy top.

  • This is a Boxster RS60 Spyder... Fact.

It was a special edition boxster launched in 2007.

  • THAT'S NOT A PORSCHE BOXTER SPYDER!

  • Guys this is not a Boxster S NOR a Boxster Spyder...

This is a Boxster RS 60 Spyder, over 1000 units are made limited, this has 8hp moe than boster s due to new sports exhaust..

  • Why would you call it a Spider when it's not?

  • Gen 1 Boxster Spyder (rs60)

  • That looked like a fun drive. Were you guys just doing one of those track tours like they do at VIR? During the lunch hour there at some events they let us take our street cars out and run around. Oh, and what track is this anyways?

  • @jmajetich portland international raceway aka PIR :)

  • @1969MustangMACH1

I always heard good things about that track, it's just too long a haul for me. Your vid makes me wanna drive it a little more.. =\

  • This is not a spyder... but just boxster S

  • If I were behind the wheel of that Boxster, I'd have been right up on those V8's arse. The Boxster Spyder is regarded by many Porsche purists as possibly one of the greatest Porsche's ever made. Steering is described as "pornographic" in how much it shows the road to you. Porsche make the greatest "drivers" cars of all time without question. Even the Carrera GT had basically NO drivers aids and computer assistance like a Nissan GTR etc has. It's pure unadulterated sports car at it's best.

  • that's not the new boxter spyder foooools

  • @Gentle666Pilot yes it is, fooooool.

  • @1969MustangMACH1 it is not boxster spyder...but maybe you mean spyder as a open top sport car, boxster name already mean that this is open top sport car...it stands for boxer roadster...roadster mean 2 seat open top sport car

  • @1969MustangMACH1

If the picture at the beginning is the car, It's a Boxster S. Not the Spyder.

  • @knarzt id believe you, i was just going off the word of the driver, i didnt know much about porsches

  • @1969MustangMACH1 He is correct, this is a Boxter S. NOT a boxster Spyder.

  • @1969MustangMACH1

No it ain't fool! It's a regular Boxster or 's'

  • @Gentle666Pilot yes it is, a simple hint, is that the dash board, i mean, where it shows the speed, and the rpm, doesnt haves the "roof", its only those 3 circles

  • PDK?

  • another great vid from 1969mustangmach1, excellent!

  • Nice one Mr K.

    5/5

    Mr B.

  • awesome video lad!

    5/5

  • Nice sound from the Porsche

  • Good vid! Where's the 944 hatchback? lol

My neighbor has one, performance of an Accord, parts prices of a Mercedes. Doh!

  • Sweet video man your real lucky you got to ride along lol. How many laps did you do?

  • 5 hahah

  • Sweet sounds like major fun lol.

  • That did go through the gears well for an automatic, as you said. Great video.

  • that was awesome, when is it my turn to ride in a fast ass car...seems like everyone's doing it but me, lol

  • hahahaha trust me you will get your chance.

  • That was freakin AWESOME, Kevin! What was this? You got to go on a track day ya lucky bastard!! Boxster is "the Poor Man's Porsche" as they say and its way outclassed by the BM'er and the Audi, but it is still a Porsche (which makes me go oOoOo when I see it)

  • hahahha i always considered this and the 914 the poor mans porsche for the 914 had a volkswagon engine. But yeah this thing really threw me back in the seat and produced some G's thru the corners. Lots of fun for sure.

  • 914?! Thats way before our time. I, personally, wouldn't consider any model Porsche a "poor man's car" just due to the fact they cost a small fortune to properly maintain. The Boxster, people refer to as "The Poor man's Porsche" because its the bottom of the range Porsche. I'd love to own "The Poor man's Porsche" myself. =0)

  • haha yeah my uncle had a 914 and regreted it...he said it had a sloppy gear box, and wasn't fast enough for the price tag lol. But i hear you, if i were to get a porsche i would for sure get a 70's or 80's 911. best value for the money. They are fast, small, nimble and still kick ass!

  • Hey, I had a '72 - 914 in 1973. Lots of fun, cornered great, not a lot or power, but could still get to the 100's (eventually). Ended up selling it to buy a used '69 Z28 in '74.

  • thats freakin sweet kevin!

  • Yeah it was a blast to ride in

  • awsome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • for sure

  • it a tiptronic automated trans thats why it hit the rev limiter twice.you can pull it in and out of manual mode.

  • Yeah, thanks for the info.

  • the boxster is the uncoolest porsche ever, looks like a shit ton of fun though.

  • loo, i have to agree but it sure held it's ground here, these were 400+ hp V8 cars and the porsche had a dinky 3.2l flat 6 lol. It was lots of fun

  • Cool!

Down on 23 heading south towards Portsmouth, OH. There's a Repair Shop, that has a 70? Porsche 4X4.

It so Cool! They Race it, in BOGINHOGS! BigAss Tires & Jacked Up, Real Good!

Saw That BigRedMachine & fell in love!

Asked if they could do it to my 76 & for around $3,000 or so? They Could.

    Now That's a Cool Car!

    a Real 4X4 Porsche!

    NOW THAT'LL , GET"R"DONE & HAVE FUN!

  • Wow Kevin nice ride and a nice privledge to be able to ride shotgun during this race great job. Heck even the guy bouncing the car off the rev limmiter in the beginning didn't really hurt his take off!

  • Yeah it's so much fun! It doesn't look all that fast in the video but you can't experience the G's or hear the tires screeching or be thrown back in your seat just by watching the video. IT was FUN! lol, and in a 5/8 of a mile straight these cars went from 30 to 130 mph....daaaaayum lol

  • Nice, Kevin..where's the track?? :) Jack

  • Thanks Jack, this is at Portland International Raceway in Portland Oregon, we all call it PIR. And the cars are from Carrera Motors, an exotic car dealership out of Bend Oregon....about 4 hours south from where this was filmed.

  • Very cool, Kevin! Thanks! :) Jack

  • wow, that sounds cool!

  • Yeah it sure humms lol

  • That's a quick shifting car wow

  • Yeah for being a stupid automatic it sure runs thru the gears quickly lol
