  • The 1986-1993 six round format was where the Krypton Factor was at its best.

The 1977-1985 five round format would definitely have to be the second best.

But the 1995 format was the worst format ever which caused the show the end.

  • I, for the life of me, can't understand why they employed Penny Smith as a co-presenter in the very last series of 1995. Why? Gordon Burns was doing a magnificent job on his own.

  • TUNE! gota be by "the art of noise"?

  • @beroks Yep it was!

  • Awesome!!!

  • NTO BAD PROGRAMME HAT THE MUSIC THOUGH

  • A milk recorder is somone who records how many litres of milk that a cow gives in a lactation. The information is utilised by the farmer so as he can feed the cows correctly! .........Nowt to do with bottles or consumption!

  • This is obviously from Heat 3 of 1991.

  • this is what its all about, the old krypton factor the proper one not the crap we have now. this is what its all about

  • the new one is crap

  • na just a crap host

  • better than the ben shepard one

  • I know this is by the art of noise but is it on any cd??????????????

    Please help

  • no. it samples beatbox diversion 2 on daft by the art of noise. the theme to the kf is just a remix of that used from 1986 til 1993 and remixed agen for the 1995 series

  • What the feck is a "milk recorder" when it's at home?

  • A milk recorder is someone who makes a record of how many bottles/pints of milk delivered to people's houses.

  • @SegaMegadriveMic I wanna be a Milk Recorder when I grow up!

  • @SegaMegadriveMic tapes pints of milk of the telly I think :-P

  • @Dabs84 Wells potted!

  • I wonder if anyone ever watched this programme the whole way through and not just snippets of it.

  • i always did and still do lol

  • Lol, I absolutely knew 100% that there'd be a Systems Analyst among them.

But on those rarest of rare occasions when there wasn't a Systems Analyst competing, step forward the Post Graduate.

And if both were competing...!!!!! My god, you were in for an epic battle!!!

  • @97channel

    LOL

  • Milk recorder, lol

  • God the music seems really slow now! I thought it was well cool as a kid maybe not now though :~

  • The new series is an insult to this treasure!

  • Ah..the memories!!!!

  • The Theme is So Very Much Art Of Noise

  • hell yeah!

  • you're spot on the theme wa by the art of noise

  • I used to love watching them crash the planes in response.

  • Completely dislike the new one. It's been meddled with too much.

  • You're right. It has. They should have left it like this. They also brought back Bullseye on Challenge like how it was(with Dave Spikey as host instead of Jim Bowen.)

  • Agreed. Every time they've tried to re-jig the format it's gotten progressively worse. The Red Arrows Hawk simulator in the previous version was good but I didn't think much of the "super round" mega obstacle course at the end. The newest version just didn't impress me at all.

  • What the heck is a Milk Recorder!?

  • I have no idea whose hand are their's. You might be right.

  • The Art of Noise doing the title music if i'm not mistaken!

  • Yep, you're right. Even the end credits on the krypton factor says so.

  • This was not the title sequence every week though. Some weeks they had different guests to the ones in this video.

  • I know.

  • This was far better than the awful new version of it.

  • I completely agree :-)

  • Laurence actually won all 6 rounds on this episode

  • Much prefer this theme to the new one, far more catchy...

But what the hell is a Milk Recorder?

  • A milk recorder is someone who make a record of how many bottles/pints of milk delivered to people's houses.

  • Lol, I was hoping it was going to be something impressive like a bizarre music instrument.

  • Of course, this was the inspiration for another popular 80s UK TV quiz show - "The Crap Town Factor" which opened with scenes from a roundabout in Slough.

  • This music is bloody EPIC! =D

  • Isn't it just? :)

  • I've upload the title sequence from 1977.

  • Excellent! :-) Just googled for KF and this link was on the front page. saw it was 1991, clicked through for old-time's sake, and it's only the opening titles for my heat!

Very lucky to win this one. Basically, Steve got one question wrong in the GK round which was the difference.

The new show isn't a patch on the old one. They've dropped the flight sim round to make way for adverts! The assault course doesn't make good TV. The puzzles look harder though. Good times. Laurence (spelt with a U)

  • I met Laurence 13 years later and am happy to report that he still looks as physically fit as he did when he had a full head of hair

  • It's been a long time I seen this one. Just asking, what rounds did you win? I know you won the contest.

  • I won the Mental Agility (my favourite round) and the Assault Course. Came second on the flight sim and observation. Bob won the observation.

I won the heat by 2 points in the end (Steve's wrong answer!). Visonu's not quite correct, in that I didn't win every round, but I was on top of the leaderboard for the whole show.

  • Hey! I remember this episode pretty well and I assure that Laurence won all SIX rounds!

  • You know, I'm pretty sure I remember it better than you :-)

I was on top of the leaderboard for the whole show, but I certainly didn't win every round.

  • Are you Lawrence Parsons from this episode?

  • Well, it's nice speaking to a KF contestant.

  • Steve won 3 rounds, Lawrence 2 and Bob 1.

  • I saw this episode. Lawrence Parsons won every round

  • lol, milk recorder

  • Classic! Sounds like The Art of Noise did the title music, and what's more, if you're lucky / wise enough to live in the north west of England you can see Gordon Burns presenting the local news everynight on BBC Northwest Tonight. BOSSSS!

  • Classic! Sounds like The Art of Noise doing the title music ... and if you're lucky enough to live in the fantastic North West of England you can see Gordon Burns presenting the local news, BBC Northwest Tonight, everynight. BOSSSSS!

  • OH MY DAAAAAAAYS! I remember this!

  • man this ooooooold XD used to love it

  • but what do you think of the new one?

  • What does a Milk Recorder do?!

  • A milk recorder record the number of bottles of milk delivered to people's houses.

  • the new show is shiiiit!!that ben shepard is a walking anus...

  • Why the fuck didn't they keep the original theme and presenter?

Didn't It's a Knockout and Bullseye teach them anything? It's not the game show that makes the program, it's the presenter!

  • I loved that show, BRING BACK 100% AND put it onto Channel 5

  • The new series is crap!

I hate the new assault course, you can't tell what's going on with all the different camera angles.

    The old series was brilliant.

  • You're right. The assault course looks like something from holiday camp. They should use the old course.

  • I thought the new one is an abomination

  • @SegaMegadriveMic I hear that.

  • @DesJonze69 I hate the new Krypton Factor also

  • Just remembered how hard core that old course was!

  • Dam right, Far tougher than a few shitty planks and beams in the new one. In the old one you had to crawl through s bends, go underwater e.t.c also in the old one all they had as i recall was the krypton factor jump suit in their colour on, for the course now its H+S gone mad.

  • The new show doesn't feel the same without gordon burns and the new theme tune. gordon burns should stop presenting north west tonight and go back to presenting the krypton factor

  • You can't bring back to the past, unfortunately. Applies to most of the good shows viewable on YouTube. They are now part of the past.

  • I really enjoyed the New series and it was great to have it back after 14 years.

  • Yes, nice to see The Krypton Factor back on the Telle but shame about that numpty who presents it (isn't he some brekky TV presenter), and pathetic new theme tune. I agree BRING BACK GORDON BURNS. Same old score with these TV remakes, they just aint as good as the originals. Goodness knows what 'Bullseye' would be like if they brought that back!!

  • they did on challenge a year or so ago! dave spikey hosted it but it was more of a piss take to be honest

  • no way near as good as the original, where was the flight sim

  • Oh yer, wasnt that when contestants had to land a Harrier jump jet or something like that on an aircraft carrier like they were training to be a military pilot? That was class. Todays show is pants compared to the original- they just try and make it interesting with difficult questions which no one really gives a stuff about.

  • Bullseye already is back, albeit on Challenege and hosted by Dave Spikey. He doesn't do a abd job of it either.

  • I totally agree with you sodhexo, I was totally dissapointed with the show, the presenter was so wooden BRING BACK GORDON BURNS

  • The new show is an absolute load of CRAP, The obstacle course on the new one is shit and the music is crap and so is the presenter, The original series had much more character, The music, The tasks, Presenter, And obstacle course were far supirior.

  • Could they not have updated this tune for the 2009 Krypton Factor? I rather like this one!

  • I agree. This one is much better.

  • The new series seems to be more in touch with the eariler episodes than the later 1's.

  • Cant believe they got rid of the old theme tune. Stupid choice.

  • I don't like the new show sadly.

  • I watched it and was wishing the Beeb ahd stuck to its guns. They might even have brought in an audience.

  • i remember when it was in 1995 with gordon burns and patty smith

  • I got to see filming of episode four of the new series, Ben Shepard is very good and I think the show is just as good as i remember it!

  • Ahhh so the audience was real and not canned. Because we can't see the audience in the new series.

  • This Definately sounds like A4t 0f No1s3 - C7o53

    awesome tune :)

  • Oh man the music brings it right back. LOVED IT. Especially remember the flight sim and assault course. Loved it when they fucked their landings n fell in the water n got all wet lol

  • if u aven't yet seen the new logo for the Krypton Factor then visit my channel i av it as my wallpaper

  • It starts in January. Filming starts Monday 8th December

  • New Year's Day. 7:30pm

  • ben shepard is the new presenter for the new krypton factor that comes back to ITV in 2009

  • This show was so cool, I always loved the mental challenges it was my favorite bit!

  • Great show I use to love all the challanges, especially the where they had to spot clues in the short films and the challange where they had to put a puzzle together correctly.

I have a sneeky feeling the Krypton Factor logo got there idea from Superman with the name Krypton, the colour green and the red dot shining which represents the Red sun of Krypton. Just me but that's the impression I got :D

  • Loved that theme music.

  • yeh its defo coming back because i got an email from my accountancy course askin me if i wanted to go on..i'll lose 100% lol

  • I have a mate who is the spitting image of Gordon Burns*

    * 100% fact

  • OMG!!! havent seen this 4 ages used 2 be my fave tv show thx for uploading!!

  • thats the best news i have heard all day. But will they be keeping this theme tune????? i regard it as the best theme tune of all time!

  • Thank you ITV for bringing back television toughest game-show The Krypton Factor.

  • The Krypton factor one of the classics of ITV in the 80s

  • Correct!

  • the krypton factor is comin bk 2 itv nxt yr :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • That's freakin great news! How did you know?

  • i found out on ceefax on the telly on itv n bbc1 ceefax thts how i found out about it lol

  • A milk recorder????! wtf!

  • Did you read my annotation?

  • I did, but still.... wtf??

Did his careers advisor suggest that to him?!

  • Flight simulator was a favourite of mine on the Krypton Factor.

  • i want this as a ringtone on my phone ,lol

  • The dinner parties must be amazing for conversation,

"Hello my name is Laurence, you would believe but once in 1991 when I was a computer systems analyst I was on the Kryton Factor!"

  • I remember this, it was awesome! I used to love the assault course and the flight simulator.

Gordon Burns reads the North West News now and he still looks exactly the same.

  • this is possibly the best theme tune to a tv show ever?!

  • I loved watching this but only really liked the assault course (being as young as i was, it was the only part of the show I really understood!)

  • The bloke at the start of the intro moving the K into place looks like he's drunk one too many!

  • Or he's blindfolded

  • god i remember this when i was 7 years old in 1991 wow great series

  • Better than the crappy new one.

  • this sounds like the Art of Noise

  • That's cos it is Art of Noise - check the nd credits if you get a chance.

  • That's because it is the Art of Noise.

  • How does someone record milk, exactly

  • they record the bottles of milk delivered.

  • Basically a milkman then?

  • More or less, yes.

  • Didnt GMTV'S Penny Smith co-host the last series with Gordon Burns in 1995?

  • Yes

  • this brings back sooo many memories!

  • Yeah ditto

  • Gordon Burns used to call this TV's toughest quiz and I completely agree. I am a chartered psychologist and I reckon the way they combined mental, memory, observation, spatial ability and general knowledge is inspired because these are all classic tests of intelligence. Combined with the physical test, the suave Gordon Burns and the brilliant theme tune by Art of Noise made this the best quiz show ever. It was unmissable Monday night viewing!!!

  • cool theme tune!

  • Isn't it just? :)

  • a milk recorder? the hell is that!? Great Show this!

  • A milk recorder is somebody who records a servey of pints or bottles of milk delivered to people's houses.

  • I had no idea Gordon Burns hosted the Krypton Factor!! Today he's currently the newsreader for North West region.

  • He's been host of the Krypton Factor since 1977.

  • I am Gordon Burns

  • ...and I'm Napoleon...

  • yeah fuck off napoleon

  • Yeah fuck off Gordon Burns....

  • Music sample taken from the Art of Noize

  • Challenge TV actually showed this series.

  • I know. I saw it earier

  • Has anyone got any 1980-82 opening titles ?

  • no sorry

  • The 1977 titles have been uploaded along with the Granada frontcap

  • I've uploaded it.

  • Milk recording sounds dead boring, in fact I think it might just be a posh name for someone who delivers milk to houses and businesses! LOL

  • wtf is a milk recorder?!

  • A milk recorder is somebody who records a servey of pints or bottles of milk delivered to people's houses.

  • o right. sounds interesting. :P

  • Spoken like a veteran milk recorder.

  • I saw this as well.

  • Me too!

  • I'm watching this one now.

  • Yeah, I also saw this one

  • If Sweeper10e or any other Sweeper cunt has been insulting you for posting on Brock Lesnar videos, add me as a friend.

  • OK. cheers for the advise.

  • yes thanks

  • thanks alot

  • Just checking. Is that what you wanted?

  • do you know where i could get the theme tune?

  • Yeah I do actually :-). I will send you the link seperatly.

  • By the way is that the later version? Or is there anywhere I could get hold of the 1986-1989 version?
