Bill Nelson. The under recognized, incomparably gifted, under appreciated, unbelievably talented, ultimate guitarist. The man is a genius that can simply play anything he wants to. My only wish is that he still played the Yamaha sometimes.

I went to see Be Bop Deluxe back in the 1970s at The Odeon in Birmingham UK , during the release of the Album Sunburst Finish. They still rate for me as one of the best bands I have ever seen. I remember, they had four encores, during the last one, I think they just pretty much made it up as they went along, a real jamming? session & it was stunning. Bill Nelson is a fantastic guitarist & song writer, in my book, one of the all time greats.
I worked at the Odeon Birmingham as a stage tech. I remember working on 2 Be Bop Deluxe gigs and a Red Noise gig. Wonderful stuff and Bill must be one of the most under rated guitarists in the world. A true genius and all round nice bloke. Check out his site for current info.
I wonder if Thomas Dolby was aware of these performances at the time since his Sole Inhabitant tour looks very similarly done, obviously different equipment!
I LOVE THIS GUY <3

Don't know if you know but the voice and the words are from Charles Bukowski, an incredible American writer who died in 1994.

Nice one - I still can't figure out how he gets "that" tone, though.
