Why would it be stupid if he fought Pac, according to u Marquez is a better than Pac making it an even worse decision to fight Marquez. If Mayweather wanted to fight the best he would have accepted a fight from true welterweights like Cotto, Margarito (prior to the plaster), Clottey, Paul Williams and Moseley. I believe he was called out by all these guys but decided not to accept any challenge until a smaller Marquez did.

Mosley gave Mayweather the run around when the chips fell his way (Mosley had the title and was on the negotiating end). He felt Mayweather was not "established" enough. Now that Mayweather is on the negotiating end (Mayweather is top earning fighter in the sport; TOTAL revenue) he is "returning the favor." Sort of like **** you Mosley, you need ME now. Mosley is one of the best fighters out there, but his Draw has always been weak. Unlike De La Hoya he never had that huge MARKETING support.

Ray Leonard was blasted for not fighting young Camacho, and Hagler before the retirement . He did take a fight with lightweight Roberto Duran and lost. De La Hoya fought a lightweight Shane Mosley and lost (no one complained in either case). This has been going on in boxing for years. Mayweather takes on Marquez (lightweight) and here come the haters. Ray Leonard did get to fight Hagler 5 years later. When Dela Hoya faught Manny, DLH was in better shape than Hatton! If you watch DLH vs PBF fight, PBF position himself to were DLH can throw a combination. When DLH faught Manny, DLH kept on getting hit with that straight left and he was always out of position. This why PBF is fighting Marquez instead of Manny. Oscar was the big draw moneyman against Pacquiao, so he could have declined the fight at 147 and forced Manny to move up 3 weight divisions instead of two. Can't blame Manny for that. If oscar looked horrible, that's his own fault in preparation. Floyd deserves credit for his SD win, but he was the favorite against oscar, whereas manny was the big underdog against oscar. so manny pacquiao is now pencilled in to fight at october 17,2009 but against who? From what iv read neither cotto and mosely want to go down on weight to fight him. Mayweather in the other hand has negitiation problems with arum. Pencilled in means that it can be erased and moved to later date if they choose to. Floyd should be fighting Shane not Marquez! I don't think this July fight is a boxing fan's fight. It's an unapologetic marketing chess move!! Golden Boy agreed with Mayweather Promotions for Floyd's future fights. So it's obvious they are willing to put their soon-to-be 36 yr old, fellow Mexican fighter (Marquez) under the bus in favor to promote Pacquiao-Mayweather! You have every right to buy the fight...i'm just informing people and giving my insights and backing it with valid arguments!

Go check the OFFICIAL RECORD of Floyd Jr. on Boxrec. It states his official weights before each fight. He weighed 131 for his first professional fight in 1996 and he stayed at that weight until 2002, NOT 126!!!
