i had this game and luved it, it was fun and one of my very fave nes games ever, and not alot of ppl had it or played it! kinda miss it now after all these yrs of not platin it, wish i woulda help on 2 my nes and games....damnit!
this game is hella tight, perfect difficulty. the power ups are kinda annoying cause you can actually weaken your dragon if you pick up certain power ups. i like the green and silver dragon the best.
I love Dragon Spirit. I haven't played the NES one, but I have the upgraded version on the PC Engine. Loved it since the early 90s. Gonna get it on Nintend wii's virtual console soon.
The review is good. The backing soundtrack isn't too soft or loud and everything flows. The music during the story cutscenes are haunting and it drew me into it.
So, would you compair this game to being gradius hard? I got gradius and was pissed by how hard it was. i played g3 before but it was my first time playin 1 for the nes and i was pissed by how hard it was. And unlike the other g3 you could only use the k code once, sorry got a little carried away there.
I actually ended up getting the rom and then buying the game because of this review. This is one of my new all time favorite NES games. The game play is great, but Deft is right, the story line is horrible. The easy ending in particular when your character wakes up and you find out it was all a dream. What a load of crap. Story line aside this game is awesome.
Oh, just so you know: the red things increase your firepower. This is much more noticeable if you're playing the Blue Dragon as its breath starts so much weaker than that of the Gold. Nice review though!
your voice sounds a lot like marky mark

The green dragon is the strongest, second the red dragon. & this is a great game, & you use a dragon as an airplane for a change. :) 5 stars.
